Every mat for crafting already has its own colour. The Final colour of an item is determined by whichever colour has the most materials in the recepie of that colour. (hope that made sense :P)
Yes, I know. hmm… How to explain what I mean… lets say you want to make LA MQ chest (totally 17 mats). You have 7 green mats, and 10 purple, but you want the result to be green, so you add 4x green dye (totally 11 green parts and 10 purple) to tip the balance so that the result is green instead of purple.
Edit: And if you wanted that same one to be red instead, you would then need to use 11 red dye to overcome the 10 purple mats.
