I have a newish character (levels 50-70) that lives in the best continent in Atys (that would be the Pyros contnent) and I need/want to travel to the worst continent in Atys (That would be the Matis continent) so I can get me some of those damn flowers I need to make occupation upgrades easier.

So, REALISTICALLY, what level do I need to make the traversal from The Savage Dunes to, and through The Hidden Source..... ALONE!!!!!

I (Kovabon) managed to do that very thing ONCE, but I think it was more luck than skill.

Can anyone give me a hint, based on the season, or something like that???

{PS: And, yes, I will also travel to a cool continent in Atys (that would be the Zorai continent) to get me some magic jewels for occupational upgrades}

Thank you for your time, and have a good game!

You can do it lvl 1 if you want to but you will need a very good knowledge of environments, how the mobs behave, at how many meters they will aggro you etc.

Look at your compass, not at the map. Don't follow the roads.

This is 1,000% percent correct. The only thing I would add to it is that if you lack that knowledge, especially agro ranges, or are simply reckless/impatient, then even a multi-master will die in short order.

It truly is more a matter of the player's skill and not the character's level.

Yeah... I know that when making a dangerous trek like that it is as easy/hard as a level 1 character than as a level 250 character when facing some really nasty critters, BUT I feel slightly more comfortable if I had a few levels under my belt.

ALSO......

Does the season matter?
If it is, for instance the very beginning of (some random season) would it be more or less likely to get eaten by the evil nasties out there.

Yes, that other character needs to get some TP pacts so they don't need to go through this nonsense but once.

(Heh! I have all of the TP pacts I need, so me (I Kovabon) never have to go through this nonsense again)

((Well... except for the PR pacts... I keep getting myself killed in the PR... it's a hobby for me.))

Mobs are migratory, so season does matter. Exactly how is something I have forgotten because.... ummmm... I forgot why I forgot... but I remember that season matters, and that it's not so much that it gets easier/harder overall as it is of changing which spots are easy and which are hard.

Season matters unless you trek like bulldozer. Not just because some animals might be in the way but also beause some might not be where you need them. But it is just one piece of "traveling puzzle".

LOL, Gidget, you crack me up all the time with your pics and videos! I love you dear! :D

On the matter of mobs, seasons & times, I have not studied it carefully, but yes, certain seasons have different mobs, although it is not the same amount or a regular thing each season. For example, in winter it may seem there is more cuttlers in GoC than Ocyx, but this depends also on how many have been killed recently, enabling the whole family to "Pop," Meaning More in that area. To me it seems although there is more at a certain time, the location and amount is a bit random. At least random enough that we cannot 'plan' to go at a certain time with regular safety expected. But I could be wrong, like I said, I haven't studied it.

Spring seems to be when the mobs or the ornery-est.   Rutting behavior I presume.

I try and target OPs, tribe camps, water and herbie spawns along the way
