When you test the missions, you'll notice a non alligned toon earns 990 points for the highest mission compared to 2520 for an alligned toon. Rangers can do this, and since there is no cooldown/limit, they can to it as much as they want to get the same points (or way more) for a little extra effort.
I could get an RL job for minimum wage too, but I'd rather have one that earns enough to pay rent. As for "a little extra effort", I think the mismatch in rewards defies any reasonable definition of "a little extra". I'd rather not work ~135-140 hrs/wk for the same paycheck I get now, but that's pretty much what is being asked of Rangers.

As I said, folks are punished for not being aligned, there's strong incentive to use alts, and neither are good things.

Regarding a couple of your other points, I never said working for a civilization went against RP, only that those who feel the mechanics force them to play a character they don't want to play are unlikely to be into RP. Also, while cult alignment/fame does not affect race points rewards, Rangers have enough problems not related to those missions that, again, the mechanics give strong incentive to forgo RP.

While I agree there is some room for adjustment, there are currently ways to produce points which are available for everyone except for marauders.

Now, if you bring RL into comparison, there are more factors of RL which play a role when it comes to wage, while in RL you would study or aquire further competencies for a better Job, these could be homologued to fame or alignments in game, so, if we want to compare to RL, it makes sense that not everyone gets the exact same rewards.

As for the other, while you're correct that there are other factors, I feel that those of equal qualifications (represented ingame by skill levels) should have comparable compensation for the same work/effort. As it stands, that's not the case; citizenship is rewarded more than any other qualification. Why are my mastered skills worth less than my alt's?

I seriously hope we do, eventually. Maybe when the marauder city gets implemented. It's beyond annoying to me that, if I need sap crystals, I either have to train an alt's digging to at least 200 (which, let's face it, takes a lot of time even if I find someone to CP for) or I have to do the delivery run, also on an alt.

Speaking of marauders not being able to do a lot of things, I have no idea why hawkers refuse to trade with us. Why do they care about fames? Aren't they independent traders?

Ok, so there is no cooldown for the nation prospector. But there is no way I would do that more than once per day (or year?). Digging mission mats over q200 is a giant pain- not having region and material specialization :( About 60 minutes of effort (and exploding a few times) for essentially 250 sap crystals. But I guess I won't use those all in a day... but I don't really need the 60k dappers they gave, if I'm doing a mission for faction points it would be nice to just havemove points as dappers can be had easily.

This we did report more than a year ago, a workaround was in test and then no words about it since then :p

Ranger should not get the same nation's points as citizen since it is a faction, like Mara they should earn their own part of the bread.

Btw what about dyn events? Aren't enough to get crystal?

From what I see here from an external pov, NH doesn't provide nation's points anymore so farming alts are rendered useless.
People complain for x and y reasons.
Aleeskandaro provide you a good way to earn even more points.
People keep complaining for x or y reasons that are not really valuable...

C'mon Plac x) theres no way on Atys digging 360 mats (highest mission) takes 60 min, even without the material/land spec. Once you know the spot (people can use bmsite.net for this) its just a matter of getting there and drawing your pick out a few minutes, 10ish raw material sources should suffice for the 120 mats you need of each type {for the max mission, the others require ridiculously low quantities of mission mats}.



How many points/crystals did people get before patch for every NH delivery? I have asked here and everywhere and noone seems to even know...

You should have realised by now. Atys consists mostly of chronic complainers who want to use 36 alts and get easy rewards. They don't know because they didn't care until they HAD to use another way, the joke tells itself.

And the forums consist almost solely of people who complain about people who dare complain. And the former seem to believe they have some sort of moral high ground over the latter, which is beyond ridiculous and very ironic.

I don't see why complaints are such an issue. From what I've seen, in the majority of cases, they come from a place of caring about the game and concern about the changes. We all pay the same subscription and everyone is entitled to having an opinion.

Criticizing something you enjoy in order for it to improve is not a bad thing.

@Revvy - So basically you're saying Ryzom is not a game and therefore imbalance is not only not a problem, but actually desirable. And if you think Aleeskandaro has presented a good way then you are a hypocrite if you earn more than one-third whatever the average fast food worker in your home area earns. It may be okay for those aligned to a nation, but the mechanics incentivize tossing RP in the trash if you want to play Ryzom as a game.

@Aleeskandaro - On a daily basis, or as compared to the effort required? I said it before and I'll say it again; just because +100 Fame alts were overpaid, that's no reason to screw over Rangers and anyone working a full-time RL job. Maybe you're misunderstanding the actual complaint?

Of course, part of that is because a lot of folks don't feel like coming to such a toxic place; they see these forums as being full of freedom-hating lore-bound fanatics who want them exterminated. I can't blame them for staying away, but I can blame those who make them feel that way.

Aleeskandaro -- What is this digging mission you are talking about? The only things that have ever given me nation points have been Corporal missions (kill bandits) and the supply runs. (I only did occupations for the ones I needed for Roleplay or that I wanted for the end product.)

If you only want the +100 fame number then are ignoring the problem; one that has has caused an increasing number of problems over the years, and that this patch has blatantly legitimized. Many (myself included) don't want to play the character some self-entitled folks who hold values that are in many cases completely opposite to ours want to play; we want to play our own characters and not be punished if we choose to not swear fealty to some government.

But since you asked nicely, I will say that if I do NOTHING else, I can do two rounds of digging get 1980 compared to the 1800 I used to, but that 180 extra points comes at the expense of being able to do ANYTHING else. Halve that for a package run as that's only once a day, and there is no savings in time as runs takes longer in lakes than the other regions. Sure, if I used my meks differently I could do other regions, but ditching/rebuying mounts is not an option as it would cause ssssoooo many logistics issues that it would not be worth the hassle, and trekking mounts into/out of lakes is it's own set of problems, so it's Lakes-only or using an alt.

As it stands, I've already seem a few players (some with multiple subs) leave as a result of just this patch and/or the backlash against those who dare criticize it that. That combined with issues that have been unresolved for years, the issues that Revvy belittles me for ever mentioning, makes me unsure that it even matters if they do get the balance right though. Even if the devs get the mechanics fixed, they cannot patch the community. It just took this patch to make some folks realize how unwelcome they really were all along.
