You can still do occupations and make some cats on your own, exploring another nice feature of ryzom as a side effect and getting plenty of consumables that help in grinding too. F2P players can also do some civ faction runs to get additional cats (and sap crystals).

During the Q&A session yesterday, we were told that there would be no cats from any sources, not just OPs. This was from the Event Guide; so, he may have it wrong as the post only indicates OPs don't produce cats...will be interesting to see how that plays out.

after reading that not all players will be reset.. I think I will give this a miss, shame as it sounded very promising.

I hear rumors the may be a bit of a change to the tp system, and we all ready heard about mat location changes etc

With this (so called) wipe it will just mean more people stood around the stables, looking pretty.

I for one am glad I can keep the lvls I have been working on for the last six months. A full wipe will only be nice for the bored few that have seen it all before AND have the time to do it all again; a very small minority.

Perhaps the long time veterans know better what a full wipe would ultimately result in. I agree with Ixolite though. A full server wipe for everyone who plays is more exciting and open ended than a pseudo-wipe where most will just pay to keep their levels and skills. I guess I do agree that more veterans would quit than folks who feel like me or Ixo would rejoin, so what they are doing probably makes the most financial sense. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't prefer a full wipe for all, though, and will probably pass on this new "beginning".
