This idea would add visual interest, for one. For two, how does prospection with knowledge work (RP)? It seems the skill makes the source easier to identify somehow since others can tell what it is, too. A visual change in the source would make sense to me.
The only issue I have with this is the glow (knowledge 2): Currently, the source glow shades from green (stable) to red (about to explode), so something the knowledge 2 idea would have to be modified.

app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=post/view/106876okay so I have been standing here in Zora just looking/staring blankly and absentmindedley at these Raw Material Sources with Magics floating around ithem - so maybe can have them changed to what it actually is...so for Seed there can be little Seeds floating around them instead of the little balls of Magic (this would be the "Prospection with Knowledge 1")
and then just simply make them glow a different colour for the different kinds/types of Seed - Beige Caprice, Red Sarina, Purple Saurona, Blue Silvio (this would be for "Prospection with Knowledge 2")
"Prospections with Knowledge 3"
and then the "Rocks" (this is just what I am calling for them) can be a different colour for Qualities (ie. Rocky with Gold veins Supreme, Rocky with Black veins Excellent, Rocky with White veins Choices, Rocky with Red veins Fine and just Rocky Basic...idk what colour Rocky is...maybe Grey/Gray?)
...idk if The Lore is preventing them from being any different Colour from Green
