You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.
Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

All fame after the merge was reduced to zero. If you don't have enough civ fame to become a citizen then that option will not be there, There is always the option to curse the civilization ( renounce your citizenship) in order to get negative fame with that civ

By the way, about fame : if your character was existing before the merge, all fame are reset, and the fames with tribes show 0 everywhere, but it doesn't mean it's really 0. You have to make a mission (or kill a guard of the tribe) to refresh the fame.Initially, when you never met a tribe, you couldn't see your fame with it (still the case for real new characters). This is a kind of bug with "false" new characters
