Sorry about ignoring your suggestion and suggesting something totally different instead.Opening some truely neutral tp opportunities at very high fame is a good idea too. Like q50 tps being open to religion aligned homins AND homins with 45 civ fame and above.Another idea, actually it's an old one, is to make some RP transportation methods:Lakelands: Ferries! No doubt Trykers build ferries! High cost because of high stinga rum comsumption of the captain. You need to wait a minute (or anything longer than tp time) for the ferry to arrive and cost is impacted by civ fame. Forest: They built roads... what for? Carriages of course. They are high cost too, not because they drink too much but because they don't want simple people to make the seats filthy. Jungle: Hmmm.... Maybe they can meditate over magnetic instabilities and warp you to the other towns that way. Needs lots of weeds so it's expensive too. Hmm, maybe some Zorai got a better idea about that.Edit: I'm not proposing the implementation of ferries or carriages as 3d objects. A simple NPC or clickable object will suffice.
