I've seen this and it's empty atm.
My concern is it's close proximity to Berello Gorge (500m). If it is to have a means of teleport there, it would give a slight advantage to a siege upon Berello.
I know of no other outpost with a city or teleport so close other than Woody Workshop that has a karavan TP/spawn within 200m.

The strategic implications should be lost on none of us. If the Marauders gain control of the area, they will control access to and from the Desert regions via the northern route. This will leave only the western route, through the Knot of Dementia in the Witherings, and the routes through the Prime Roots.

It will also give the Marauders easy access to the Desert regions as well as the Forest regions.

I say stick the marauder camp in nexus. They do enjoy that free for all pvp after all.

Depending on how the marauders are further developed there could be numerous issues arising. I for one hope not to see TPs for marauders implemented mainly because they are anti-race not faction and can still use kara or kami teleports. If they are also anti-theist then they face the struggles of being nuetral. Many people do it and it would be a disadvantage once again to those being neutrals. If the camp is aggro or such and gets its own guards dragging could occurr and they could intervene in a lot of roleplay and treks between the matis and fyros.

I seem to be seeing more and more concern, at least for myself, with the things the devs are planning and personally I'm frightful that ryzom is taking a rickety course in development.

Yep it's been live on both servers since the patch. They may possibly tie it into an event before it's open here instead of just plopping it down with no explanation. Or not.

More exactly, the situation on Leanon is the same as on Arispotle and as described in the postings above. On Aniro, the marauder city has been fully installed, it is possible to do the marauder rite, to obtain apartments and guildhalls, there (they are Fyros style), to deal with the traders, to learn from the teachers, and to access the marauder teleportation system. All that is under test since few weeks.

I suppose once the new third faction is fully tested and working on Aniro it will be implemented on the other two servers.

And how do the Marauders get teleportation? The Lore is that teleportation is by the generosity of Jena (the Kami say Ma-Duk). While it is clear that no belief is required on the part of those being teleported, still, there need to be disciples at the altars. Akila Ash-Storm is no god.

Elias Tryton was also supposed to have created the rainbow portals (if I remember right) so that would actually make sense for them to have teleports.

Yes, and pardon that I did not respond earlier. The marauders' teleportation system is very different from that the Karavan and Kami are offering.

After passing the marauders' rite, a teleportation crystal containing 10 charges is handed out to the new marauder player.

This crystal needs to be synchronized with the Zinuakeen (maraudeurs' teleporters) installed in each region of Atys. (right click, "read inscription" on the Zinuakeen). I have no idea how these marauder teleporters will look and whether or not they be visible to non marauder players (my Aniro char still is on Silan ;)). After having synchronized with the Zinuakeen, the marauder player is able to teleport there.

Each teleportation costs 1 charge. If there's only one charge left, teleportation is possible to the marauder camp only. Once the crystal is empty, no teleportation is possible until recharging.

Recharching is done at the marauder camp intendant, who offers recharges of 1, 5 or 10 units at 10 000, 50 000 or 100 000 dappers, respectively.

There has been an indication in Aniro RP forum (a letter from Tryton), that the rainbow portals may be reinstalled in the near future allowing Tryton followers to teleport.

It is true that teleportation, according to the Lore, is an ability granted by the superior forces, maybe the gods, at least that is what Karavan and Kami tell. Tryton, who is no god to the best of my knowledge, was able to perform that without invoking Jena or Ma-Duk. Marauders may have invoked other aspects of the superior forces than those of Karavan, Kami, or Elias Tryton. I do not see a contradiction to the Lore, rather an incompleteness.

For practical purposes: Player characters with a cult fame below -50, possibly -40 already, are unable to use Karavan or Kami teleporters. As marauders must have at least -40 civ as well as cult fame, they could not teleport at all unless they have a system of their own.

In the future, there seem to be planned three organizations: 1. Marauders, anti-civ and anti-cult 2. Trytonians, pro-civ and anti-cult, and 3. Rangers, pro-civ and pro-cult (not aligned, but positive fame).

Hmm... Thank you for all the information, Daomei. It's the first that I had heard that Marauders had to be anti-cult. I personally could see a devout Kami who was also anti-civilization. (A little harder for me to imagine a devout Karavan that way.)

I also did not know that the ban on use of Kami tp's was based on fame rather than on my status as a convert of Jena. (In fact that has only recently taken place, since before the summer's patch it was possible to use pacts that you had on your person though it was not possible to buy new ones.)

As far as Tryton (whom I agree is not a god, nor has ever claimed to be) and the rainbow gates, I had always assumed that those had been invoked by the blessing of Jena, or that they were the result of whatever force it is that powers the Gates between the various continents (and regions in Aedan Aqueous), brought into being by Jena and shown to hominity by Tryton, who was then assigned the credit for them post facto.

From the original lore: "Many homins were able to escape through mysterious teleportation 'rainbows' leading to safe haven until these too were destroyed by kitins. Homins remaining in the infested lands could but flee into the wilds where they were forced to live nomadic lives in constant fear of kitin attack... " It is only the Karavan lore that puts Tryton anywhere near them.

I agree that the canon Lore is fragmentary and contradictory.

That Tryton apparently still lives is interesting news. I must tell my father of the rumor.
