Update: I got 19,200 XP overcrafting HA so this is my new record - so what is the maximum possible?
As Mjollren pointed out, high-quality HA helmets, pants, and vests take 40 mats each. At the maximum of 300XP/mat that's 12,000 XP right there and cats double that to 24,000 XP.... if you manage to avoid a degrade.
The real question is how likely one is to overcraft successfully by 50 levels.
