IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Good day, everyone. Today (April 15th, 2024) I had decided that I wanted to move my apartment and after realizing that it is impossible (because my 1 Mount is 95% full and my 3 Packers are also close to max capacity along with my apartment being almost full) – I find it frustrating that we are unable to purchase another apartment, and then have a 24hr “grace period” to transfer items. After 24hrs, whatever is left in your old apartment, you lose.

This would make for toons who are changing guilds, changing factions, or want a scenario change, that ability to do so. I am guessing that a large majority have the same issues.

I would like to see this feature/function for 2024 – even though by the time it happens, I would have already figured-out how to move.

That is my 2-cents which is not worth the digital space that I just consumed.

Thank you

Space management is an ongoing issue for players and is part of gameplay. Zigs were added to give more space, but you really need to assess what items you have and if they are of any value.

First time I moved I left half my junk to be deleted. If your packers are 95% full are you waiting to craft and drop items, or is it for crafting missions or occupations?

Et vous pouvez mobiliser aussi les espaces de stockage de vos amis, ennemis (hum) pour aider à tout transférer , ryzom est un jeu de coopération , ne l'oubliez pas.

I like the idea, but I'd rather see everything automatically transferred to your new apartment.

I agree. I like the idea but it does not matter to me either way. As long as we have that grace period, i do not mind doing the work for a change of scenery.

Ok, if this were to be addressed- then a fee/paid service, in-game currency, to hold old inventory open might be the option- or hiring a moving company…

I imagine your old apt is empty and inventory is withdraw-only for 48 hrs RL.

Or for the RP option you have to protect 5 NPC and their packers as they trek to several map points- it might not be to your exact destination, but you must work to make room in their caravan for your goods. (I guess you could ask RP guild/players want to do this?)

But again, anytime I groaned about moving inventory much more experienced and wiser players asked what items I had stored- and they simply pointed out that it was junk or easier to replace rather than spend an hour or two moving.

This seems like a perfectly reasonable suggestion. Times change. People change. And if the community wants to continue in a forward direction then ideas should be met and viewed with an open-mind. To gripe about the past misses the point about the present. I did not read this as a free meal but a responsible idea. As a subbed player, your apartment is a storage closet that is being paid for on a monthly or yearly fee. Free-to-play toons can purchase but it is of no value because of the inability to store, so why allow to purchase.

And to comment on the silliness of moving companies, and mercenary protection fees - in the real world where I live, you normally have an apartment rented prior to leaving. There is no immediate or instantaneous removal of your items upon signing a new lease. People who are alone normally make multiple trips to move items, and yes, some even leave because they did not feel like wasting energy or space in their new place. I think that people forget why computer games exist and take something that is supposed to be entertainment way too far.

RE: “silliness” I understand where you are coming from, as a new player I often didn’t appreciate the roleplay aspects and nostalgia of this game.

However since then, I have moved my apartment at least three times and there was rarely any reason to move ALL the items. My highest quality PVP and PVE gear (multiple sets, with weapons) all fit on my mount/packers.

With zigs, I now even have free space in my packers/mount for craft mission materials- so I was trying to gently point out that the poster might be hoarding junk :D

Sure the game can be changed in many ways- why not just ask the old inventory to just transfer automatically to the new apartment if you think RP is silly? (Oh, Magez did :P)
