IDEAS FOR RYZOM

In order to create more opportunities for sandbox gameplay, a bulletin board could be installed in each capital city. Players would be able to post messages on the board. These messages would be timestamped with in-game dates and would expire after a certain amount of time, perhaps two seasons or an in-game year. Players would only be allowed to post one message per bulletin board at a time.

Bulletins could be private or public. Private bulletins would only appear for specified individuals according to their names, faction standings, or guild membership. Private bulletins could therefore be used to share guild news and events in-game. Public bulletins would be visible to everyone. They could be used for roleplaying, work orders, community event announcements.

Because Atys is so big and because new players are relegated to starting zones, postings on bulletin boards would show newcomers that the world is alive.

It sounds like private bulletins wouldn't add much to the game. I thought that they could be used for roleplay purposes but as Azazor pointed out
it doesn't make sense for a private message to be on a public bulletin board.
