IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Theres only a limited # of GL's and they do tons of extra work whether it be teaching or negotiating OP's or whatever. Why not give the GL's an automatic 10% boost to their current stats. Maybe even give the HO's a 5% boost.

This is a way to reward members within a guild that contribute in one way or another. Right now the promotion system only grants access to gh items. Lets make it more prestegious and ceremonious.

Also, to be fair, limit the amount of people that can be HO's relative to the amount of guild members. The more members i na guild, the more HO slots up to a certain point. That way it will control making everyone's alts an HO as well just for OP war purposes. Thanks

Cyn -- there used to be a limit on the number of HO's per total membership. Many people complained about it. While I can see your desire to have extra stuff for HO's, you also realize the dangers.

In this case I think that simply making it so that the boost is strictly PvE would solve the HO inflation problem without limiting the number of HO's. It would be tricky, but the GL's could be allowed to keep their boosts since there is only one and he/she is expected to be a little more heroic than other homins.

How about some kind of registration system controlled by GM's and some kind a way to verify that they are actuall players and not an alt gl from Alt guilds?

Would be way to easy to take advantage of this. Although I understand why you want the idea its open to too much abuse- and GMs controlling it would be too much effort. I would rather seem them make camping illegal again and police that (as they gave up on it because it was 'too much effort') than have to police something like this.

I think Bitty's idea to make the boost PvE only is a good one. I also understand Virg's hesitation and how it may be abused in the future.

I'd just like the ability to recognize players based on their participation in guild events and such. The GM's put in much effort, especially in active guilds. And many of the HO's spend countless hours nurturing players in one way or another.

Instead of having the GM's workload increased by monitoring alt guilds, having this feature available for subbed account only can reduce the amount of future abuse. After all, many of the Alts (but I realize not all) are on F2P accounts. If people want to sub all their alts to have a slight advantage, that's more income for game development as far as I'm concerned. They'd still have to spend a significant amount of time grinding to master their subbed alts, so it wouldn't be a free giveaway.

I wouldn't do it, it would be exploited with 100% certainty. All players without a guild should then form a single player guild to get the boost.

Wouldn't do it either because of two reasons. Firstly I also see the potential of abuse and the amount of work required to prevent it.

Secondly, I know I might be naive and I'm surely idealistic believing that the reward of the guild leaders cannot be paid in stats or items. It's the respect paid by other players in and outside of the guild and well developed friendships within the guild.

Note that there are interesting studies done about the altering behaviour when a reward that used to be a social one (a "thank you", or even just a smile) to a monetary one. There's nothing good about that change. Since i feel that's off topic here, I won't go into details unless requested otherwise.

Let's hope our good guild leaders continue to do their hard work just because it actually provides them with fun in doing so. Thanks to all of you!

meine Meinung.

I'm just wondering how long it would take before someone started abusing it. My thoughts are that if they did it at a dead hour on a weekday it might go without exploitation for an hour, possibly two, but that's about it. And I am pretty sure that someone would find a more creative way to take advantage of it than has been brought up in this thread thusfar.
