**Please correct me if I am wrong**

Once a player pay to get subscription for the game, he is not allowed to play anymore as a free player from the same account.

How about allowing once subed players to let play as free players too (from same account) with:
1. all skill-levels capped at 125
2. level 125+ titles grayed out / disabled
3. all Meks and mats on it should be inaccessable
4 apartments/guild hall mats are unaccessable
5. any feature that a subscribed player gets should be disabled.
6. give all the features of a free player including letting him/her play too.

I think it is one of the desired feature in Ryzom and some of us need it. I think some players want to enjoy the game with their subscriptions but can;t continue with the subscription for long time.

Hi Fish!

You are correct, once a player subscribes they cannot go back to f2p, regardless of their highest lvl. They receive several features for being subscribed including doubled xp (perma-cats). It would be impossible to completely reverse all the benefits of having been subscribed and wouldn't really be a good investment of Devs' time to make it easier for people to not pay...

I do applaud that you want to keep as many people involved as possible; many paid players have f2p alts so even if they can't sub for a time period I'm sure we'll still have to hear from them... :P

Hi Placio,

I really think that here is a flag to determine if a player is free or sub. My instant account update to sub is making me think so, and I think all sub benefits should have a condition check of sub or free account so that they can be enabled/disabled easily. Sorry for such complicated words but I am a technical guy so I think it in this way. Actually I don't have any idea how difficult it is coding wise (as I have not seen it myself :) ) but maybe CSR can confirm the same.

Fame runs are the thing which is killing the fun for me. I like Matis character and want to join my current guild (which is kami) as a free player.. so to help my team more frequently I need 60+10 Kami fame (Matis start with -10 fame I think). So it is really trouble for me :( and yes leveling fast to help team is not an issue, but might be for other players.

It would help a bit if maybe we can save some files before going sub, and can use them to play as free character later.

Even if they could make your packers, GH, and apartment inventories inaccessible, how are they supposed to un-double xp? And what about mats or weapons over q130 dug or made while a subbed account? Way too complicated and they could be using the time for other purposes.

Good Luck with the fame. Although I am Tryker/Karavan now, I was born Fyros/Kami leaning so it is possible :P

I am Matis Kami so yes it is possible :D and thanks for the motivation :)

I leave the question on the dev and design team what all they can/want to handle :) but current question is if players want it or not :)

As I understand it, f2p (unlimited restricted trial) is only there so people can try the game and hopefully if they like it, they will subscribe.

If everyone played f2p the game would likely go the way of the dinosaurs.

you can always make a f2p lvl it to 125 in no time (if you ever played the game before then you know the tricks to lvl fast) and fame runs those are easy as hell even a slow casual player should be able to get +60 within a week if they wanted let alone if you find a friend to do em for you while you grind some lvls. => can be multi 125 melee/ele with 60 fame in a week this way (if you like and don't want to pay then atleast work a bit for it)

Super Crazy!! what is this XD
Awesome pic Sub :D

First: The picture is great, thanks Sub.

Second: I have made a similar proposal before the fusion. The idea is that there are indeed players thinking about affording a sub. Once they are subbed there is no way back and they have to either pay or not play. In fact, that means losing players, though temporarily, when their sub elapses. For some it may be a goodbye forever.

The idea would be to cut all skills of the now unsubbed player to 125, to make apt storage and packer inaccessable, viciously displaying all of it grayed out as a carrot.

It would allow a broke player to continue participating, for many creating a strain to resubscribe in my opinion. Locking them out is likely to loosen their ties to Ryzom and eventually lose them.

I agree here, more or less banning a player for failing one payment might drive them away for good, but letting them participate (in events) might encurage them to try resubscribing.

Wurm Online for example does it that way and goes rather well with it. Well it got the advantage a f2p can essentially trade ingame services against premium time from other players.

Hmm... if there is a persistent shortage of money that makes paying <10€ a month for entertainment impossible... maybe it's best to improve the income situation? Not playing might help with that.

With different words: It might cost a few players but it is a good thing if they get their lifes in order in exchange. It's a game.

I'm from a country where $10 (for an MMO) is somewhat between "a big deal" and "eh, affordable". So I can see where people are coming from when they're concerned about not being able to constantly pay. Think eastern Europe and other such places.

Still, I keep an alt for any such unfortunate times, and for all intents and purposes, it's the same thing. Capping a player to f2p levels means they'll be unable to do most things that they love, be it crafting, digging or hunting. Not to mention the dev effort expended to make sure all loopholes are closed (like pulling down the dodge/parry abilities, etc). In principle I'm against the proposal.

However, I do know some people would love to come online and chat, and maybe they'd like to do that as themselves. So disabling all skills, only allowing them to be online might do the trick?
