This isn't really an idea and it is just a plea for some understanding and help I guess.

Who are our enemies?

  • Kitins: will always be our enemies. They continue to slaughter Marauders still present on the Old Lands. One day, after taking control of Atys, we will eradicate this menace once and for all.
  • Religious factions: we fight all those who defend the teachings of the great Powers.
  • Homin governments: the Powers encouraged homins to devise separate governments only to divide hominkind. The only true civilization of Atys is that of the Marauders!
 
 I tought to just start out with that passage to show most ppl here that our number 1 enemy are the kitins.

At the moment there is an event going on where homins are trying to build towers to protect from the kittin and drive them back a bit. My question is why can't marauders help with driving back the kitins? I know marauders wouldn't want to see these guard towers being erected everywhere either. So it should be something where marauders can drive back the kitin and also block the building of these guard towers.

This would show homins on atys that marauders aren't here just to kill everyone but are here because of the kitin threath and are here to take it on headfirst. Marauders survived for so long in the old lands being attacked by way more kitins constantly then we have here now. There has to be a way where marauders can get rid of these small ones quick and efiecient with some "marauder technology".

ps. If mara can't help drive the kitins back in these lands then there is no reason for them to be here anyway since all they want is a place to live safe without prosecution (wich can mean kill all that try to prosecute) and without kitins. If the civs/factions on atys fail driving the kitins back then all that rests for the marauders is to pack up camp and climb some roots I would say.

I think you mistake the purpose of the Observation Camps. They are not meant to drive back the kitins but to provide information about the kitins' activity so that those who need to muster to drive back kitins can do so with better information. The Camps are not fortifications, but outposts. They will be provided with troops once they are finished, but those will be only to protect the observers, not to attack kitins.

As for driving back kitins, why do you think I have been keeping maps showing the location of the Mounds and more particularly of the pods of aggressive white kitins? It is to encourage homins of any race or political persuasion to hunt them down!

In fact at one of the earlier meetings of the Ranger aspirants it was explicitly stated that the Rangers would allow those who call themselves Marauders to join the fight against the kitins.

I guess I understand what you are saying but in the end they will be another 'national symbol' for the lands to have guards at. I'm just speaking for myself here but don't think marauders want anymore guards or guarded places.

For the killing of the KotD itself it doesn't really pull in marauders we can't turn in the kotd title tokens, we can't help with building the camps if we wanted to => there is 0 incentive for us to do something atm, there is also no way for a marauder to show that he's helping with the treath

It's a big long lasting event that should pull in every player but again a portion of us aren't allowed to help. 

ps. somebody else should actually test the token turn in for titles since I have had these for couple of years now seems I can interact with that npc but all he tells me is "congratz ....", but even if we can talk with these guys they aren't part of our roleplay and going to one of them means 6guards atacking you aswell.

Hmm.. Sounds like the Idea Forum Idea would be that the Marauders should have a Kitin Monitor to give them the Kitin titles. That shouldn't even be that hard to implement.

As for participating in the building event I don't see why you couldn't if you wanted to. I don't think the starting camps are KoS zones for Marauders. (If someone with large negative fame could answer that....)

Well the guards do not kill us but we cannot interact with the npc mission givers there because our fame is to low. (only tested zora one but if that one doesn't work others shouldn't either but I've seen crazier stuff in this game so let me know if one of them accepts mara)

It seems plausible to me that the camp mission excludes marauders, like all with too low fame in the nation in question. The camps are national undertakings, they earn national faction points. They will be manned by soldiers of the nations where the camps are erected. So it would seem strange to me if marauders would help the nations to build outposts, or the nations be encourageing such.

With the kitin observer npc, it is or at least should be different. I did not recognize fame conditions on them, but maybe i missed it, shall check it next time. I agree to Bittty that a kitin observer npc should be present in the marauder camp.

Hello,

This "dev event" has been written before the creation of Marauder Faction and before the creation of ARCC tool, so unfortunately it's impossible to modify parameters to add interactions with NPC for Marauders without spending many time looking into Ryzom code.

However such interactions will be possible for future events.
