We could block all non-reseted avatars (or keep them in the Almati woods) just for one month after the merge.
So we could have a real fresh start for one month without powerleveling, easy exploration, outpost squatting, easy equipment...
The very beginning of Ryzom was a wonderful experience and we can live it again if everyone is at the same level for the first month.

Levels kept AND everyone starting together at the same point, just for 4 weeks...

(sorry for my poor english).

In other words everyone play with a noob during 1 month and high lvl characters are kept safely somewhere but can't reach the continent during the first month.

So everyone will be equal during the achievement contest, starting at the same level (new chars can't compete with multi 250)
This would also avoid a rush on the OP on the very first days, and allow :
- new chars to have the time to level up a bit and be usefull for others
- communities from each shards to get to know each other
before the real "war" starts.

We could enjoy a real fresh start without being spoiled by high levels, and vets would be able to join the party with an alt anyway.

i agree with this or if the case fundings short i am prepared to pay more for a proper restart on a second server

#4 Report | Quote[en]

are we gonna start on silan with masters ?

#5 Report | Quote[en]

Yes -- masters who have no way of using their masters because there is no q250 equipment to work with. Even Masters will be crippled to start with.

I'm pretty sure everyone with more than one master will be going to the ML within the hour.

Yeah this. Going to be tons of people digging for mats to make new gear...on the mainland where there are actually decent mats to dig.

There wont be an OP rush, because a guild needs to be active for:
5 days to attack a q50 OP
10 days to attack a q100 OP
15 days to attack a q150 OP
ect....

And guild needs fund to att an op.

Do we even know there will be op's? or will we need to build/conquer them? => I can imagine that kittins have destroyed them in the great swarm

There will be a rush.
At reset+5days all q50 APP will be claimed
At reset+10days all q100 APP will be claimed
...
At reset+25days all AP on Atys will be claimed.

And for the money, except if there is a majot boost on the cost, it will be easy for all guilds to have sufficient funds. Farming a monstruous quantity of q200 mat in short time is really easy for level 250 teams.

I think this is a good way to allow guilds with new characters to claim the small OPs before the vets take everything.

Dappers are not a problem as "reckless" toons will get 1 000 000 Dap in their pack...

Just to note it: as the monetary system will be revamped it might either be harder to get dappers OR things will cost more OR both...
so since we don't know the kind of changes they did/have planned we can't really say if it really will be easy to claim the OPs.

Assuming we have a guild with 20 reckless ppl that'll be 20mio dapper - what if forming the guild will cost 50mio dappers now?
This would lead to a smaller number of guilds and less remaining dappers, now we reduce the amount of dappers you get from the NPC merchant by 50% on direct sale and make attacking OPs 10 times more expensive...

Yes those were just imaginary numbers! But they are supposed to show that we do NOT know HOW they want to change the monetary system so we won't know how hard it will be to get dappers AND attack the OPs.

But you still know that it will be MUCH MUCH MUCH easier for high levels than reckless peoples to get money... And if money is hard to gain for OP, the money of the reckless's avatars will go to the high levels avatars.
The main concern is the same, reckless people will be like little childs playing in the garden surrounded by adults playing adult games around them.

Why punich ppl that don't go reckless? And what you gonna demand next atysmass when we got a big influx again of new players, that all ppl stop lvling so they can catch up? If there are OP's in ryzom2.0 then yes some big guilds not going reckless will probably own them first but it's upto the others to att em and take those OP's for themself later on when they got stronger.

There is much more behind the reset question.
I know a bunch of gamers that were ready to try the game at the announce of a full reset. With the true reset gone, they aren't interested anymore.
We should appeal to those gamers because WG need money and new subscribers. Between 100+ new subscribers and 1 month without my multi 250, I choose the new subscribers. Because I dont' want Ryzom to close definitely next year.

Ryzom needs new subscribers and 1 month without veterans can hook some newcomers.

I Just started playing early August, then became a paid account about a week before the wipe announcement. Even though I had mixed a mixed opinion I did look at it as myself being new to this game.

I got used to the idea that my paid month is wasted because of the wipe and I had focused on other things while I waited for the wipe. I of course did not have as much to lose as the players that have been playing much longer than me, but I really liked the idea of starting fresh with everyone. I would be able to make new friends and maybe start a new life in Ryzom where I did something different this time.

Then they decided now that they will not wipe the Paying Accounts, this after they said there was no way around the wipe, leaving me back with no one to play with, unless of course I want to be power leveled through the game and miss everything I would have seen actually leveling a character.

I love my guild for taking me in and helping me learn the game. I was just hoping we would have all had to start over and level together... now I am unsure what I am going to do, Keep my level 120 or start fresh...
