hmm tell that to some ppl that keep yelling q&a only here pls in uni, that's why we are asking for a rename then we don't have to read xxx saying every 3min on uni pls q&a here.

why can't we get a real free to chat uni channel (with rules) and a q&a one? (we can still put spammers on ignore)

If you think it is because of that dialog box popping up the first time u use uni... That text is very old and outdated, never changed to match the policy that is actually implemented.

That text is still very much actual. The only thing that's changed is that we have relaxed the enforcement of misuse in certain situations, if this misuse does not hinder the channel's purpose.

Full text of the message: "Warning! The Universe Channel is intended for players asking for help about the game and for those giving them the information. Misuse of this channel will be dealt with by GMs."

The fact remains that the Universe Channel has become a Universal Chat Channel. This is obviously something that people want (because they use it for that - we all do). A Chat Channel helps players feel part of the Community, whatever their level.

The difficulty comes when pleas for information or help go unnoticed because of the high level of chat. So how about an ADDITIONAL Channel for Q&A.

I now play with it turned completely off except to make general announcements such as the call to Assembly yesterday.

I miss helping homins but finding the occasional Q to A among the general bickering and mindless chatter that Uni has become is not worth the effort. The quality of Uni and the community's ability and willingness to readily respond with help made Ryzom a very unique place.

If a dedicated Q&A channel returns, I'll watch that channel with great joy.
