The last couple of days I have started up Ryzom and after entering my password there will be a longer than usual delay followed by a box

Error: error (4000)
[Help] [OK]

Help leads to nothing that helps me with error (4000). However, if I click on [OK] and then hit Connect again, it connects just fine.

What is it and why has it suddenly appeared?

This happens to me as well, now its becoming every time i log In i have to do it twice.. Only started happening recently.

I had one logon yesterday when it didn't happen, but it's been consistent since.

The 4000 error series seems to be related to the ring session manager. As the ring has been disabled for now, it could be that it's trying to connect and failing.

I don't how to prevent this but I'll investigate a bit more.

Can you send a client.log of a failed login session to support-ee@ryzom.com please? 

Please delete your client.log first, then log in so that the log contains only relevant information.

I'll do that now, may I note that this is account related 2/4 of the accounts I often use this happens to, and even on different computers.
