The cost of subscription has gone down in recent years, and maybe we will see some adjustments in the future. The major reservation I have to your idea is that there is already another MMORPG that allows in game resources to be converted into paid membership and it results in bots, gold farming, and similar spam. I think subscriptions are occasionally won during OOC events but otherwise in game items should not have a real world currency value.
Also I voted no in your poll because I don’t like unfair polls or it is just a joke to begin with :)
