Hey Atysians,
It's coming up on time for Ryzom Core to apply to be a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code. If accepted this will be our fourth year in the program. Last year brought some great new tools to Ryzom Core as well as the new Character Achievement feature from SirCotare!
For those not familiar with the program organizations such as Ryzom Core apply to become mentoring organizations and Google chooses a handful of them. These mentoring organizations then choose college students who apply to implement a project idea over the summer. In return for a successful project Google pays the college student $5k and the open source project gets some cool new functionality.
The first step in this process is to become accepted as a mentoring organization. One of the most important parts of the application is a thorough list of well thought out ideas for students to use as the basis for their project proposal.
We're calling on any interested parties - Ryzom Core community members and Ryzom players - to come to our Google Plus Community or to our Summer of Code wiki page and contribute ideas. I'm sure you all have ideas for how to make Ryzom better. I know you do, I read through the ideas forum often.
Thank you!!
