Ryzom on Belgian TV last night - English

Well like title says last night when i came home and put on television I was greeted by Ryzom on television. It was on national television in a program about addictions, yes you hear right was about game addictions. It was a guy talking that had been addicted to ryzom some time ago for a couple of years, his name was Kyndra or Kalyndra or something like that ingame, it was a female tryker toon with light-green bold hair style. He now does readings in schools all over the country about how bad mmo's are for ppl.

ps. I only saw the last part of it so i might have missed alot off the interview

I bet people addicted to WoW won't go lecturing much...

Any kind of mention is good - but I wonder what did he say about "why Ryzom" was his addiction of choice.

Just 2-years, though... Bah there are many of us who have been stuck here for 7 or more.

from what i got, like i said only saw last part of it, he said when he started to play he really felt part of the game and it pulled him in. He got the feeling when playing he made a real difference in the game and stuff => guess it's the great community feeling of ryzom we have to think for that.

I'm not 100% sure they ever said the name ryzom only the video of him playing was ryzom and his toon he explained was ryzom

Aww, Belgium doesn't even have a site where you can re-watch this kind of stuff? Backwards country :P

Well then, I can only comment in general....Funny that of all the MMO addicts they picked a Ryzom addict - we must make up like 0.01% of the MMO population?

And generally with these shows for a non-gamer audience, I think it's sad that they don't clearly make the distinction between games in general and MMOs. Sure you can get addicted to any game (or any thing), but MMOs are definitely specifically designed to get people hooked in quite evil ways.

Now what we get is that the non-gamers worried about game addiction just conclude all games are evil and get ridiculed by the gamers. Maybe if it became clear it's not games but specific elements programmers put in some games, they could actually do something effective.

Ryzom addictive? It is just a matter of balancing your life, if you can't than anything can take it over.

I am sad to see that he thinks this way, I thought he was leaving for health reasons.

i turned on right at the moment he said his name I didn't know it was about ryzom at the moment so didn't pay that much attention (expected a wow screen or movie, since that's the only mmo most know around here).
Good chance it was Kyerna or something aswell. He had name/guild/title ... turned off during the movie so i couldn't see his name only that is was a bold (light green) tryker and i do think i saw him pvp tagged as tryker (but that can just have been a new f2p toon aswell i guess, didn't show any fighting just him running around with amps on)

Can't be Kyerna, he was addicted for far more than 2 years...
Plus he loved Ryzom with a passion and was a cool roleplayer.

name sounded a bit like that and i checked to see if i can replay it but seems it's the only show on tv that night that we can't rewatch all other shows we can rewatch (with a small fee, but not that one)
