Is it possible to have this fonctionnality ?

Thanks :)

Not only does Craftjenn make great gear, she also makes great forum comments.

Regarding the inability to block chat messages by "~" users arriving from sources external to the game, it seems that the same is true today with Rocket Chat.

Disturbing the peace of various chats in-game is not enough for some players. So, they disturb Atys with a megaphone (i.e. Rocket Chat) from a distance which cannot be blocked in-game.

I say, let the Kami deal with it.

Just as when harvesting, the wrath of Kami can be incurred for abusing Atys, the same should be true for chat. Users could have a Kami status bar for their status with Kami. If that status runs too low, the Kami will kill the offending homin with a strike of lightning. This will result in a timed ban from Rocket Chat and in-game public chats. The offending player will incur a full death penalty and receive a courtesy note of explanation from the Kami who killed them.

Good deeds by the offender and compassion, if deserved, from fellow homins should be allowed to alter the offender's Kami status. Up or down-voting by other users of individual comments could be one way of doing this. Down voting comments by players would reduce Kami status while up-voting would increase it. Think of this as care planning for chat. Yet, even without the participation of other homins the Kami will be watching and acting as necessary and with vigilance.

The initial programming logic could be based upon number of characters typed within a given time. Up and down-voting by other players could be added to that logic.

I'm sure the devs could knock this out in about five minutes -thanks to all the subscriptions. ;->

Open chat with the person, go to user info, block user. Click again to unblock.

Could be handy indeed if it would read ingame ignore list.

I dream about a day when IG ignore list will be shared with RC :)

#5 [en]

I had this issue a few times before I decided to unblock everyone on RC again who I still have blocked ingame.
A quick talk with Riasan revealed that the current way blocked people are handled by the RC are out of hands to solve or change by the Ryzom staff and lies within the responsibility of Rocket Chat, to which all inquiries regarding this matter should be made.

Nice gravedig of a thread by the way.

//Edit: The current way blocked people are handled in RC right now is that you will still see their messages, albeit with a warning reminding you that it's actually text by a person you have blocked.

Thanks Jahuu for the information on Rocket Chat :p

But I was talking about the (PHP I think) code related to the In Game chat, who generate what we see when In Game (not on an external chat - note that when I wrote the 1st message, 3 years ago, it was NOT Rocket but megacorp.io).
Therefore your post is not answering (at all) to my 1st post (not related to rocket at all) but it is interesting, giving newbies some information :p.

And, hum... I was quite upset, reading

(even when I was a kid, I knew that...) By the way, I loOooove such answer, ussually from people who don't really read. Such answer makes me feel very stupid, ashamed, thinking "I won't write anymore on this forum and/or on Uni D

As it seems Jahuu did not understand what I was trying to explain (in my pour english), more than 3 years ago... trying a better explanation: I would like that if I block In Game for ex HominA (therefore, when HominA talk IG, I won't see anymore anything from HominA in the IG Chat, at least in the USER channel)
then, even if HominA use an external chat I won't see his sentences in the In Game chat :
* or we could add ~HominA in the In Game Ignore list
* or filter messages in such a flow:
Rocket Chat sentences -> In Game chat -> user channel parameters + In Game ignore list --the filter works here--> display filtered messages in the USER channel (In Game)

Notes:
* Hiding in RC someone -> rocket related
* IG ignore list syncronized with RC ignore list -> wahou ! what a nice idea !
But what I would like seems to me "more easy" to implement (if homin really try to understand me)

Some good ideas, but a lot of stuffs in here (citation) would make me very uncomfortable (as it makes me think to some witch hunt)... What about the shy people (who don't speak very often)? or about outcasts, minorities?

Imagine (for ex) that a troll, who jokes a lot (and with many very crude jokes, for ex), gain lot of votes... Some adults would like him, some would hate him - would be fair to ban him for 2 kids, coming between 4 and 5 pm ? :p

Reading chat and forum, I fund many aggression or even meanness (even if I know that, most of time, it's just clumsiness from some 12 years old boys). I am not sure such votes could be constructive on Atys (with a very strong Kami faction).

For me, that must be only in the hands of CSR.

But I agree that Universe has too much flood - most of it is in English, therefore I know lot of French who never read it). Maybe we should better add a more clean "help chat", with no flood, for all factions and languages.
And please stop saying "ask in region" when we know in Silan, most of the time, there's nobody who can answer Grrrr LOL

You can be upset if you want, these language barriers are distracting our communication. I assure I aimed only for cooperation.

And since Jahuu still doesnt understand the point, better be Leave-huu, good luck! =D

The problem is, basically, an exploit.

If a user is blocked in game and that block is circumvented (intentionally or not) by using Rocket Chat, it's an exploit.

Craftjenn

Here's a simpler idea... Create a chat called "Atys" where no alien transmissions (e.g. Rocket Chat) are involved. For those who just can't let go of Ryzom -even at work and even though blocked in-game, they may continue to use "UNIVERSE" chat.

Universe chat and Atys chat could be made optional or selectable.

Neira
....Nice gravedig of a thread by the way.....
:) It's a non-resolved problem which, like the walking dead, cannot be allowed to continue.

Ok (nice for thoses, banned by some CSR IG, who like to shout from rocket to IG chat), but it  doesn't answer my request.

As it seems the maximal number of chat is limited IG (see on wiki https://en.wiki.ryzom.com/wiki/Special_command I would mean that we would lost one, the one used by the new Atys channel), I would suggest something like:

Rocket Chat sentences (outside game) ->
In Game chat (sentense arriving on the Ryzom server side, working on Ryzom server) ->
Ryzom chat would work using 2 things :
a. user channel parameters (what channel to display or not  in USER tab's chat)
b. In Game ignore list
--the NEW filter works here-->
display filtered messages in the USER channel (In Game)
