To be able to put a shop anywhere with adds on what services you offer and letting you the ability to dismount it so you can put it up anywhere else.

Are you suggesting player shops with goods on sale?  You can already sell stuff via the vendors. If you are suggesting a contact point for you for people who want to commission stuff, put an entry in the Bazaar section of the forums.  The functionality you are asking for is present without adding items to the landscape.

We have enough stuff cluttering the landscape (especially near the stables where people forget to put their Meks *into* the stables.  Given the observed inability of many players to avoid clogging the aisles, this would be a horrid idea.

Hello,

I made some macros a while ago for adding channels.
One of those was a crafting chan, where people could propose their crafts or request some.

These commercial channels are pretty common in other games.
So why not in Ryzom?

Best regards,

Heyas, Sittingbull --

I suspect that the low population (even now) has a lot to do with it.  Not worth adding a channel to your chat-tabs (and you can only be on four channels), when you can just pass word of mouth and the demand is only a few items a week.

Hey Bittty,

Sure you can ask around for stuff. Although if you know the people.
With a channel you don't access one person, but a lot more.
It could also be used for typical mats you're looking for?
Special mats from Bosses you just looted but don't really need.
You could announce these in the chan before placing them at the merchant and without disturbing the others.
How about: " hey i need some of this and some of that, and i 'll pay you this much for it"

Regards,
SB

At first glance, I would have voted for this idea but Bittty does bring up some great points which I completely agree with.

I would prefer more filtering options added to the merchants though. The filtering options on the merchants are great, but it would be nice to have the ability to search for wares with specific bonuses or certain minimum stats or by crafter name. For example a Q250 weapon with a minimum speed/parry/damage of # or armor made by a crafter or armor with only one stat bonus. Personally, just adding a filter to only show items with specific stat bonuses (HP/Sap/Stam) would be great. I hate buying jewelry because of this.

I guess a bit like an auction?

Ambika, second that idea.

And I agree with Bitty, that an additional channel is making life more difficult instead of helping. With the current amount of traffic on the universe channel I also do not see the need. Announce on universe, and if noone wants to trade, put it up in the forum as well. If it's something for sale put it into a merchant for reselling with the appropriate %-agio. Remember you can retrieve your own items from the merchant and reissue in another place.

I think the game has all the mechanics required for trading. I prefer the mechanics to adhere more to reality of life on atys than perfect convenience for players. With that I mean that I rather like having localized merchants (you don't see stuff for sale in Zora and Pyr at the same time), than being able to see everything everywhere or having a non-Atys related auction hall.

If you want to auction off some stuff, organize a "black market" yourself. Those were always fun events on Leanon, and I can only guess that Ari and Aniro must have had similar community organized markets.
