Arfur (atys)I thought it was obvious that when you go into a Guildhall or apartment, you are sent elsewhere, to somewhere on the edge of the map. You are not in the same building/tree/whatever and certainly not in the same town or region.
Whatever the reason for this, it makes no sense.

It can be both at the same time. It's obvious to anyone who has ever looked at the map while in an apartment or Guildhall. That doesn't make it logical. It still makes no sense.
