I made a post which included a pic using the img tag in the body of the post. Worked great outside of Ryzom. In game it will crash the client if you open the post. Removed the pic and accessing no longer crashes.

#2

Can you please give me the link of the image that make crash to do some test?

I used...

"Galler y" can´t be correct. Seems like there´s a space too much. ;)

No idea how the space got there when I pasted it here, but I assure you that a) there was no space when I used it, and b) it was working out of game (displaying the image), and c) was causing it to crash in game.

Do you need me to put the image back in the post? Is it not crashing in your test?

In addition another similar problem…

Right now I can see my avatar pic external to the game, but not in game. Furthermore, after clicking to open other posts to test this, my game client crashed. I suspect this crash was from my avatar pic display problem.

#7

The client sometimes inserts spaces where they shouldn't be. That is a known issue.

for your avatar things, did you read the text in the option near the avatar url?

"Avatar image needs to be in PNG format and preferable size of 64x64 or 64x128 (width / height must be 32, 64 or 128 pixel)."

your avatar is not 32, 64 or 128 pixel width/height

I find that very restricting. It should be defined by maximum witdh/height, not impose specific measurements. Otherwise the image will look distorted.

The game client is a bit particular about image size and format at this time. Some photoshop will fix any image to be of the correct dimensions though :)

That’s true I was at 60x64 :) I had read it as just the height (you snuck in a change to the instructions I bet :p ). I changed it. So far no more crash but its not displaying for me still (maybe I need to restart the client before it will).

But you figure the result being a client crash is still ok though? I mean its potentially crashing others too.

#12

Found out that 64x128 doesn't work for me although I respected all the conditions. Had to fiddle around to create an acceptable 64x64 Avatar.

PHP has some nice image manipulation functions which will allow you to suitably resize any uploaded image, and convert many formats to PNG. Perhaps a bit of dev time to implement and test that is in order. If needed, I can provide some sample code.

Yes, it did !

#15

I assume it crashes on non-power-of-2 images?
