You can copy your ryzom folder anywhere you want, it does not need to be installed or checks for registry keys etc. Runs straight from the directory. It is already portable.

exactly... I've already used ryzom from an external harddrive while on tour. Works well with both linux and windows clients.

But there is one thing it's saving in the registry which is the slot of the last caracter you were logged in with and your login name (those are not really needed though and are created upon start if not available)

So perhaps the suggestion should be to move that setting in Windows to a text file in the Ryzom directory instead, like on Linux? 'LastLogin = "nonea"; ' in client.cfg

I've got Ryzom running from an 8gig stick. I use it while traveling. I even use the PortableApp platform for launching.

It IS already portable! Maybe not by size, but definately never have to install it.

Except for possibly changing that registry key to be in a/the config file, I'm not sure that anything really needs to be done here.
