While running in to the Dyron settlement, I saw a Fyros Citizen, Abycaron Apomus (!) She said: "Recent illness, eh? I imagine the Karavan has poisoned their food and it's part of their elaborate scheme against the Kamis!!"

She seemed unwilling to discuss the matter further, already locked into a fantasy that we Karavan followers are capable of such world-wide deception.

Bitty,

It is well known that the Karavan seek to harness the Goo, to turn this poison to a tool. Most homins know this, it is no secret. Knowing this, it is easy to make the leap in thought that the strengthening of the Goo and its infection of the flora and fauna must be linked to the Karavan if not their Followers.

you seem of the opinion the Karavan have insidious motives in their study of the goo (or those following their example do), when most likely (I don't fully trust them, like I don't fully trust the Kami) intent merely to understand it in order to more effectively combat it.

Seems far more probable the speaker here was delirious and a devout Kami follower, mixing his animosity towards the Karavan with his experience of poisoned food without having any real indicators to do so.

If anyone is trying to provoke bad feeling between Kami and Karavan followers, this can serve no good purpose. We are all brothers and the real enemy is the Goo. It is the duty of all Homins to fight the insidious spread of the Goo. We must work together to this end. If we fight each other we will ALL succumb to the purple menace from below.

Iala,

You do me a great injustice in ignoring the rest of what I said:
Gorran
I do not believe it to be the Karavan but, rather, the misguided efforts of a few homins thinking that they are aiding the Karavan.

Taming the Goo is, on the surface, an appealing idea but in practice it is like harnessing a Great Tyrancha as a packer or a mount.

I do not believe the Karavan have insidious motives; rather, I believe that they do not recognize the magnitude of the danger surrounding their research just as the Fyros did not recognize the danger they would awake when they roused the Kitin. I also do not believe that the Karavan themselves intend any harm to hominkind as a whole and that their efforts into studying the Goo are done with the intention of benefitting Atys and all homins.

The Karavan seek to contain and control the Goo, to use it as a tool. As I said before, this is an appealing idea to many but it is fraught with such great danger. The Karavan have not helped us find a way to contain the hordes of Kitin that roam the surface let alone the marauding Great Kirostas that plague the Roots. If they cannot contain the Kitin, then how on Atys can they expect to contain the Goo which even the Kitin avoid? If the Kitin are wise enough to avoid the Goo, should we not demostrate the same wisdom and follow a path to destroy, not contain, the Goo?

We must stop merely killing the Infected for they are merely a symptom of the Greater Disease. We must attack the Goo itself. As I passed through Silan so very many years ago, I saw the effect of purified Sap on the Goo. Why is there not more effort into the use of purified Sap against the spread of the Goo?

Sai-Ju Fuangi, the Zora Welcomer, asked that I meet with a local supplier, Qui-Le Bian. As I talked with him, he mentioned that he had a small package for La-Viang Biani of the Icon Worshippers. I agreed to carry his package to La-Viang. La-Viang was terribly grateful, the Icon Worshippers' usual deliveries were not reaching them and he said there were strange reports from those coming through Mystic Falls.

At his request and to ease my own mind over this, I journeyed to the Falls and while there, I was attacked by a Poisoned Gingo. It has been many years since I have seen an infected animal in the Cities of Intuition.

Be wary as you travel my friends.

"It took over an hour before a healer could have a look at my broken leg in Zora. When he finally came around, he looked all stressed out and his mind seemed occupied with other matters. Well, he did quickly sort my leg though, so I should not complain. But he did mutter something about an epidemic."

Qai Bu-Gen now says: <missing:CUSTOM_JC_FS_A152_F52>
I believe that he has gone totally mad.

" I would tread carefully outside these borders; there are some strange things happening out there. Strange glow on animals and plants, tribes and other mysterious Homins roaming the premises. I even heard that it was now recommended to wear gloves when handling all unknown materials! What is happening around here?! "

Down in Fleeting Garden near the camp of the Siblings of the Weeds I met an Old Zorai Citizen, Jani Xo-Ching. She said: "The material I dusted off a sick homin had a strange resemblance to dried up Goo. I am glad that I used gloves when dusting it off."

Dried Goo residue??

While this is unrelated to the goo, Cuisti Tinapi (Karavan Follower in Maiden Grove) said: "I heard that they climbed up on one of the roots stretching to the sky and that the air there was so thin they fell down and became ill." This is the first time I've encountered this homin so I'm unsure of how long ago this event occurred.

Interesting, indeed. I wonder who "they" were. The NTCS hasn't sponsored any expeditions -- I know that.

It might not be unrelated to the Goo. If the Goo contamination is being spread by Marauders, they might be wanting to poison the Canopy. That would be very bad for us.

Eurabus Zecus (!) Old Fyros Citizen:

I can't belive it! I just heard that a group of homin were gathering vegetables in Knot of Dementia when they were kidnapped and are to be test subjects! I hope the authorities are checking into this.
