Just to let you know that I worked around this issue by adding to "~/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/client.cfg" the following two options:
DisableVtxProgram = 1;
DisableVtxAGP = 1;

This solution is also suggested in this bug Ryzom bug report:
http://dev.ryzom.com/issues/1296

Cheers,

You might want to put a note about this on the apple app store. I see alot of people having the crash but they don't think to come on these boards to find a fix.

I'd do it myself but I can't comment in the USA app store with my french account.

hello, just got a macbook pro ('11) and after checking out the app store, and discovering this game, I immediately had load screen problems. where do I insert those lines of code?

thanks...

If you are on a mac and running OS X Lion you may have issues with making changes to the suggested files. Before you can make changes first off you will find that the files are located in /Library/Application Support/Ryzom/ That is not the problem.

Apple in trying to protect the enduser from themselves decided to hide the Library folder.

To see the folder you need to run the application Terminal in your Utilities folder and type in

"chflags nohidden ~/Library"

Once this is done you will be able to find the files. I had this issue so I figured I would pass along this info.

found it, but there is nothing within my Macbook pro running Lion that allows me to open or edit the cfg file.

Hi Enwellas,

It's just a text file. I dont know macs that well, but I'm sure there is a text editor installed by default

You can open it with TextEdit. Check in your utilities or applications folder.

Might want to make a fix script to ease up that whole process...

One problem with making a script is that different systems can require different settings.

Personally my system works fine. I have had no issues.

I meant a fix script for that particular issue to try out. Perhaps with a reversal/backup to restore from if that particular fix was of no use.

okay, got into the library, changed the code and it works. yay! for macbook pros with multiple users, you have to go into your user profile/library/application support/ryzom/.cfg file and insert the two lines of code.
