It would be much better to change the rights system for the guild.

For each member assign allowed tasks:
May put things into guild [yes/no]
May put money in guild [yes/no]
May invite other in guild [yes/no]
May kick from guild [yes/no]
May set the motd [yes/no]
May take items from guild [yes/no]
May take money from guild [yes/no]
May manage the rights for others [yes/no] (but only those that the person owns already)
... and what ever there might come up with possible guild missions in the future.

Of course with the ability to set a default for new members.

If you have problems with people taking things from the vault you chose the wrong people to have access.
If you have problems with everyone putting things into the vault discipline your members a bit that they either shouldn't do it or write in the guild forum that they did.

If you don't trust some f the people in your guild WHY did you invite them?

I'll break it down to three sub-questions:
  • Would this feature be useful? Yes
  • Is it necessary? No
  • Should devs spend their limited time fixing/adding something else? Yes

All alterior motives aside, I could be RPing a thief.

[edit]Voting with an alt account, seriously?

Seriously. Voting with the Main toon on any paid account is legit regardless of who is running the toon, and as far as im concerned if im paying the Sub i will use it to vote.

The fact this thread was started 9 months ago means that there is many that think this is a great idea and it has been requested for some time. There are people that will treat this a trust issue, but there are also others that see this for being a very useful tool.

Please keep the support coming for this as its a great concept, and its great to see the suggestion evolving into different implimentation methods to make it that much more interesting.

Just one example about trust: Recently in my leanon guild i noticed a maybe drop in some very rare amp mats, that would normally need some talking to me before removing them. I can't be sure if anyone else did remove them, i could have done that myself. I can suspect a new player not knowing about their value removed them. I can drop the matter without doing anything. I can also go ask everybody who could have done it... But actually it would be a lot better to just check this log and find out who i should ask what they were used for / explain how much they are worth and why. In this case a log would be beneficial to trust.

You mean this isn't a feature already? Wow. I don't even want to consider a guild of my own until there's a way I can make sure all guild items and money can be accounted for with a system like this - especially since my guilds all tend to be merchantile in nature. Not being able to properly inventory my guild's items would make a merchantile-themed guild almost impossible to do without it becoming a massive headache...

Personally I think this log already exists so there isn't much time required to dedicated developing. At most it needs a parser/filter so that it can be accessed by players flagged as GL.
People here answered "yes" to the "necessity" question bringing up a lot of situations when such a log would be necessary.

You can inventory guild items just fine. What is being talked about here is an accessible log of which homin put in items or took out which items, an entirely different kettle of kinchers.

It is possible to do a self-reporting record by using the guild forums. Just have each person say what they've done. The problem there is getting people (even honest and trustworthy people) to remember to do the recording. :)

Faa -- what reason do you have to believe that the log exists? I would expect that transactions simply result in a flag in the toon's database and one in the GH database being changed to reflect what was done. There is no necessity for a continuous record of all the transactions.

I agree that it might be nice to have this feature. I disagree that it will be simple to code (though our pet developer might want to weigh in on that). It's useful, and desired, but clearly not a "necessity" as we have gotten along without it for all these years. I see it as the equivalent (but possibly trickier to implement) of being able to craft from our apartments. We may finally get it, but it doesn't seem like a high priority item.
