IDEAS FOR RYZOM

With 39 craft trees and just 5 harvest trees, we all spending a lotta time "digging for nuthin" XP wise. SInce adding regions is a big thing, why not do this:

After mastering 3 regions, a player gets access to NPC merchants that sell 150 QL mats.
After mastering 4 regions, a player gets access to NPC merchants that sell 200 QL mats.
After mastering 5 regions, a playe rgets access to NPC merchants that sell 250 QL mats.

Why ? Despite giving away millions, and spending 60 mill on NPC plan repairs, I still have like 400 million. Be nice to have something to spend it on. This money wouldn't actually go very far .... at 5k per mat for example, that's only 80k mats from 400 million. Probably about enough to take a craft skill from 225 to 250 in the other 4 trees of LA or MA after you have mastered one.

My thinking is it might be enough to let one buy 1/3 to 1/2 of the mats they need. Mastering a craft skill IIRC nets you about 60 million, at 5k per mat, that's just 12000 mats (1 day digging).

hmm, after completing 3 digs, I've nothing to use q150 mats on (at least nothing worth doing, could use the mats I dig with the 4th dig to get that last one to 150, then 4th and 5th to get everything left to 200) :)

While a nice idea in itself, it's not something that I'd therefore make extensive use of.

Also, I'm not in favour of dappersinks as they tend to cause inflation, and eventually pull in goldsellers (though probably less a problem here than in mmos where decent gear are world drops rather than crafted).

dappersinks cause deflation. inflation is what we have now. we have billions of dapper IG and no possibility to continuously spend it on something. fact is: dapper are just worthless.
ryzom was never and imo will be never a target platform for gold sellers so don't panic!

just a last statement: a working economic system with dapper currency would be awesome.

I think there might be more poor homins than rich folks realize, especially if some crafters are willing to buy sub 250 mats. \em checks his pockets and finds only lint.

Freddy if you want more mats and less dappers, have you tried posting buy offers in the forums? I admit that a guaranteed market of 5k per 250 mat gets me thinking about breaking out my pick.

*agrees with Tico* after setting up various new players over the years, plus setting up two alt gh's I find that I usually have roughly about 1 - 2 million dappers in my bag. This can deplete rather rapidly if I am bouncing all over the place getting my lake dig and jewel crafting up, not to mention porting around trying to rez homins in need.

I would love however to find a place to spend Harvesting SP (possibly buying propection and extraction skills for mission materials).

Vourac could use dappers. who will buy mats?

Frankly I see no relation to the inflation / deflation comments. Korean MMO's, ganking.....that;s way beyond "left field". How would the avilability of a 250 QL basic mat, lead to ganking ? How would it even send anyone to PR ? Been to PR lately ? Other thean SN's, I'm the only one in region, at SN's, Im one of 2 perhaps.

We are talking basic grind mats ..... not PR mats, not anything that will affect the economy. Havent seen the availability of 50/100 NPC mats affect the economies at that level. Need dappers, master a craft ...... instant 60 million.

The fact is we have here is a dearth of crafters. Im leveling MA cause there were no Matsers available when I needed a set.

People are poor ? I give away 2 million a week minimum....sometimes as high as 10. It be more but new players I meet say no to the offers. I'll buy every 250 QL mat I can find for a reasonable price. Problem is, visiting Min Cho and Dyron every day doesn't produce enough mats to even pay for the 20k in TP's.

I love this idea on multiple fronts.

1) It gives crafters an actual use for dappers, so....
2) When new players offer to buy gear, the dappers would actually mean something
3) More reason to master all five lands of digging.
4) If we've mastered all 5 lands, I think we've proven that, yes, we can dig.

My 2 cents.
