Ryzom is a few years old and graphics don't really require a lot of CPU/RAM to run. Has anyone looked into porting this to a tablet with touch interface? If we could get this out on tablets, the number of new users would be mind blowing.

have you ever tried controlling complex movement on a tablet? It's next to impossible.
And given the amount of keyboard use required for a game like Ryzom, it would also be extremely cumbersome to do almost anything else.

You might get a lot of people downloading it to give it a try, and give up because it's just impossible to do almost anything.

Oh, I agree it would be a challenge. Need a totally different interface and tons of hot keys around the edges, maybe some verbal cmd options, but completely doable. Learn to adapt to survive. Just like they did for Mac support. Takes work, but worth it in the end.

well porting over to the mac is somthing different then porting it over to tablets would mean they have to make a whole new game i tdon't see it possible to run on current tablets,
well in fact it is possible to run on tablets already, i do it i have it running on an old Hp tablet (laptop with keyboard where you can turn the screen to use it as tablet) but when i'm on that one i just sit around stables chatting.

sorry, you are probably right for the ideas forum. I am a bit new here. The thing is, I rarely have my laptop with me anymore, when I am travelling and that is a considerable amount of time. Honestly, I think it would be great, just to have the ability to get in here and craft/chat via a tablet interface, even if the devs were unable to figure out a usable hunting interface for tablets. I promise you, I could come up with a system that would be easy to use. Been thinking of it all night, now that this game has infected me.

Well... considering Ryzom is open source... if you find an app dev team to do it, you could always submit it.
