my missions appear randomly on my map. at the moment i have two missions open but neither can be selected on my map, one is kami and the other from chiang

You have to select missions manually by right clicking the compass and selecting a mission from "Missions" drop-down menu. Merely selecting a mission in the mission log won't auto-switch the target.

You have to select missions manually by right clicking the compass and selecting a mission from "Missions" drop-down menu.

Alternatively, you can open your map and select the flag (if available).

Also note that not all missions have the tracker/spolier flags feature and that some will not appear until certain conditions are met.
