IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Temple shops offer very poor choice of equipment. Would be great to see there not only skirts, shields and picks, but also:

1) Full sets of faction armor: heavy, medium and light. At least complete LA sets for a start? Just a skirt looks silly.

2) Full sets of faction jewels with stats matching at least stats on jewels made out of harvested supremes, or better.

3) Faction ammo with improved stats for all kinds of guns. Ammo with combined types of damage (i.e. smashing + a bit of electricity and so on).

4) Faction consumables, like invul or speed eggs from Christmas presents.

5) Consumables granting temporal boosts for armor and magical resists.

6) "Seal of Jena" and "Seal of Ma-Duk" - kind of consumable, supposed to be a "death penalty remover". Being placed in bag, it would be automatically consumed in moment of death, preventing player from getting death penalty, regardless of its amount. If player runs out of "seals" he gets DP as intended.

All these things should be available in Kami and Karavan temples exclusively for PvP points.

Now this is a good idea :) I've been wanting to see some more faction items. We ahve had the same stuff for YEARS. KAravan gun :D and a full set of gear would be nice. The skirt never matches any of my gear haha.

Never argue with an idiot; they will just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Well not all of us. Wouldn't be a bad idea if there was another way to earn faction points besides PvP.

Agreed, there should be missions for that as for civ points ...

PvP rewards must NOT be available via PvE activities. That must involve both OP production and faction rewards.

Are these "PVP" items, or are these "civ-specific" or "faction-specific" items? I mean, I suppose you COULD kill someone with a Karavan pick, but it's certainly not the intended use (even if some people are exceptionally skilled at this). If a Kara Pick is a PVP item, does that mean the event last weekend that rewarded Kara Picks was a PVP event?

Are you earning you "PVP" points, or are you earning "Faction" or "Civ" points? The name would certainly imply it's more than just a PVP thing, and I've heard of missions already that reward Faction/Civ points which would drive the idea home.

Let's not draw too narrow a box around what the game can do, at least until there's a lot more to draw a box around =)

The items and points are there for performing services for your deities and their representatives on Atys.
Because of the way things have been done in the past this was never made more comprehensive than getting some for killing players belonging to the opposing faction, but IMO there's no reason this has to be the case.

Like with civilisation points, other missions can very well exist. These could be similar in nature (but not identical of course) to the ones that yield fame.
Or there could be more events like the old temple building (but without the forced pvp) where people can help build actually construct things. As is, only 2 temples of each faction have ever been completed for example, something could be organised around that (though I fully realise such building events are by their very nature time limited as at some point construction is completed, unless you want to have the mission continue with no visible/noticeable return on investment except some faction points in someone's bag).

Thought we were talking about faction rewards not PvP rewards. Why can't a player serve a faction w/o killing other homins ? Do the factions have no other goals than killing ? Were the build the temple events meaningless to the factions ? Is holding back the kitin menace not of value to the factions ?

As for PvP rewards ? Been there, done that hasn't worked. Look at the server population after 7 years, where are all the hard core PvP guilds ? Every increase in PvP related content has resulted in an exodus from server. Look who remains.

SInce PvP players don't pay greater subscription amounts, I fail to see why PvP oriented players should have access to greater in game rewards than PvE players. The argument that winning an OP and keeping it requires a greater effort is false. How many OP's have been "won" in recent times versus how many were handed over ? Certainly, equivalent PvE "effort" could result in equivalent reward.
