On February 21st, FB cofounder and GL for 14 years has passed due to cardiac complications. Azad was always there to help in game and never had a hard word for anyone. Some things ya may not have known about him:

1. He was a member of UK Special Forces unit, in places that he could never talk about.

2. He was very active in the "historical battle reenactment" scene. You can see pics from some of the events starting on post 46 in this thread.

3. After his 1st wife passed, about 18 months later he reconnected with a gal he'd last seen when he was 7 years old. I never heard about a "ceremony" but he always referred to her as is wife. He always joked that he won her by"right of conquest".

4. After his wife passed, about 18 months later he reconnected with a gal he'd last seen when he was 7 years old. I never heard about a "ceremony" but he always referred to her as is wife.

5. He appeared in a UK Documentary on the yearly celebration of Irish history at Castle Carrick Fergus. He comes in just a few seconds before the 4 minute mark and has a few other segments. He loved, as a joke, the line that back in the day the pecking order of things valuable to a man was his horse, his dog and then his wife.

6. He lived in Northern Ireland and sometimes, during periods of unrest, would say in Guild Chat "I gotta go, been hearing machine gun fire and explosions and they getting closer." He'd then turn off the PC and the lights, and close shutters.

7. About 18 months ago, hos battle reenactment group moved forward in history to the musket era .... one of the neighboring clubs had equipped themselves with cheap 'wall replicas' and then they loaded and fired it blew up, erasing much of the user's face and arm ... Azad took a bit of shrapnel and was hospitalized. it took a heavy toll on him and we didn't see him much from that point. He will be

8. If ya looked at the documentary, you saw the armor and weapons he made. He also made weapons for the HBO Series Game of Thrones and served as an extra in 1 or 2 episodes ... it was the ones where Tywin Lannister was at the mostly demolished castle (Harrenhall ? ... bad with names) and Arya was a serving girl who escaped with Jaqen H'gha (the Valar Morghulis guy. His parts were however left on the cutting room floor.

Will keep players advised to any event the guild may host in this thread. Players who would like to add on some colorful anecdotes of your experiences with Az are asked to append them to this thread.

Very sad news of Azad passing, i visited ireland twiceand met him in rl, I spent time with him and his first wife on a visit to Belfast, I was just passing through it was a short trip but he showed us around and we went to lunch. On the second trip my husband and I went over to Belfast for a weekend stay, he took us around to the local pubs, we watched a parade with a re enactment of King Charles, he was awesome, and so was Irene his new Love. My husband loved the trip and Azad was was a superior host! I will really miss him.

I had known Azad for many many years. He was a fixture that i came to look for in Pyr. He rezzed me many times, in my misguided attempts at leveling. He always had some good advice as well. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
