What happened to the Scenario Editor? I was looking forward to seeing its development since I started Ryzom a long time after Ryzom Ring was shutdown. I enjoyed playtesting it when it was actively being developed in the beginning, but it seems like it was just dropped off the face of the Earth. Did it get placed on the back-burner due to balance changes and refactoring of mechanics?

Ca exprime bien l'un des problèmes de ryzom "ou est passé [insérer projet lambda]? C'était hyper hypant au debut et ça fait [insérer tres très très long moment] qu'on en parle plus!"

Mais bon... on va pas refaire le monde ^^

Don't know about the Pocket Worlds.

I was working on restoring Ryzom Ring earlier this year.

Actual screenshot of Ryzom Ring running in 2020.

Not a part of Ryzom Forge, since I don't care about Ryzom as it currently is published. My vision of the Saga of Ryzom is rather different.

So far we've fixed a ton of stability issues. Our testing server has been running for several months now without crashing or rebooting.

There are still some lingering issues in the Editor interface that make things a bit unpractical, caused by changes in the Lua programming language since Ryzom Ring was initially released. I also want to add in support to keep scenarios available persistently, so there's always a selection of scenarios available to play. Not the same as persistence, but it's a first step in that direction too.

Planning to continue on this around October, and hopefully I can clean up the Ring leveldesign data by the end of November so it can be released as part of Ryzom Core, and you can run your own Ryzom Ring server. I will also provide a public Ryzom Ring server based on the latest Ryzom Core release at that time.

Oh. My. God. The memories! This is some very impressive stuff kaetemi, do you happen to know why the ring was originally removed? I never understood why it had to be "recreated" with other tools like the Scenographic Editor or refactored into the idea of Pocket Worlds since it was already there and running years and years ago.

That looks incredible. I'd love to mess around with the Ring; actually have a bit of sand to play with in a sandbox world.

Ring is a long work to fix it. Happy to see Kaetemi working on.

But at begin, ring server has never worked well. People who use them a lot like me know how unstable are. Lot of player stuck on ring, crashs without any way to reconnect event in main land. It's why we have deactivated it until someone have time to fix it.

Scenographic Editor and pocket worlds are very different from Ring. It's not in the goal to recreate the ring.

Scenographic Editor are now the tool used to add elements in a zone like on Nexus. It's much powerful than ring since we can place in all axes (x, y, z), rotate them and scale them.

Pocket worlds are also different, the goal is have instances in game, not outside the game. Guild islands are a pocket world. So it's used for internal projects.

These projects are at first for the leveldesigners, and i hope, will be released to players.
