The Overseers always ask us to craft xyz item for 123 dappers, but never do they say that we have to provide all the materials. Our craft missions should just be the use of our crafting skill, not piles of materials in addition. First, I was thinking that they could give us mats when we accept the mission, like some NPCs in Silan do, but that could be exploited as if you drop the mission you still have the mats. So instead- once you complete the mission, the overseer would reward basic generic materials numbering equal to what the mission items required and in the Q of their mission/region level. This would allow you to do craft missions without having to harvest for 20 minutes between each one.

Maybe it only returns 90% of the required mats, or some other law of diminishing return, but something is needed to fix the grindiness of craft levels and compensate for the excessive cooldowns that were added.

I'll take faction points from ANY mission (maras can have their faction points too)

This will let you buy your mats or crystals, killing, digging, crafting.

The idea was not for faction points :)

i believe my implication was stated

im suggesting other: faction points that can anyway be used to buy gen-mats

not seeking to hijack your idea, but other is an option, and i am on-topic still citing the generic* mats themselves

it's not a yes, or a no for me

I would vote for faction points as well. It would be great to have another option for faction points, and one can use them to buy gen mats, sap crystals, or other items.

Then those that wish can still level their digging with crafting.

My current favorite mission requires 396 materials. Q250 gen mats cost 64 nation points each, so it would require 25,344 nation points to fully compensate for the mats used. At 90% this is still 22,784 points. thats something like 4 full delivery runs, or 10 of the highest dig mission from the kitin camps if you are at 100 fame. You could dig the craft mats like 10 times for the same time invested!

i dont see the poin of the mission compensating 100% for the cost of all the mats used... that's basically a free mission

some % of the total would be fine

are you suggesting you get all 396 mission mats back after the mission? or 90% of those mats? why?

All missions are free missions except the craft overseers. Hunter- show up and use your fight or magic skill. Prospector- stick your pick in the ground and get 100ks of dappers for 2 or 3 mission mats. Scout/supplier walk/run/ride to where ever it is.

So crafting missions should only be for the actual use of the craft skill, not also giving away materials.

I believe that that is why they used to pay so well compared to other missions... emphasis on the past tense.

Do not assume that you speak for all just because you are the loudest voice; there are many who disagree that simply have no desire to waste words on you.

It only matters whether you're aligned or not. 26 fame is the same as 100 fame in this regard.

I was doing the math and 90-100% is probably too over powered. You could do craft missions almost infinitely and would rarely have to dig at all. But just over 50% would essentially give about twice the productivity for the same mats.

All rounded down: 396/2=198, 198/2=99, 99/2=49, 49/2=24, 24/2=12, 12/6=6 and 6 is close to the minimum number of mats to craft anything.

198+99+49+24+12+6=388/396=97.98%
