How should the occupations/new horizons system behave?

But don't you want to let the chance to dynamic events rewards, and improved (i hope) missions for fames and dappers?

Maybe the team can give you something probably more interesting or challenging than clicking on New Horizon?

I think the change is, a bold move considering the reactions to it, and will take some getting used to. However, if they improve the rewards of fame and dappers from the missions like the Fyros Corporal give, it will make those missions relevant once again. New Horizons felt a little too convenient; sure you give resources which can help, but there's a limit. Maybe limited dappers and fame, or diminishing returns until the next day, but I don't think it should be reverted because I do think it is a good thing to make the other fame missions relevant again.

My vote goes to Other. I'd prefer Limited Fame/Dappers, or a diminishing return system.

Actually, I'm opposed to the NH takeover for different reasons... NH were supposed to be run by the Nations, yet a non-national company, that even does business with marauders, has somehow acquired them without any nation granting permission???

Other than that I think there could be more balance in the rewards, although I'm not sure why these were removed in the other improvements are not ready yet... And I hope that if the craft mission dappers change I can get it on a spreadsheet for when greedy crafter is back online :P

I do! But that should have been added before they nerfed the NH, or at least in the same patch. Now we're hanging in a vaccum for who knows how long and that's annoying.

I understand that the devs mean well, it's just that the way they go about things is a little questionable sometimes.
A lot of the anger towards this patch could have been prevented by just stating the changes in the patch notes (they weren't so it felt like an attempt at a sneaky nerf) and then saying "We are doing this because we are working on a better, more engaging system to gain fame/faction points".

Yes, still the announcement stated: this will be patched at Jena and then we will do all other adjustment and add more contents over the month if i remember (lazy to check).

For me (a marauder that do not use NH, not even with alt) it is quite interesting to see the numbers of people relaying on this (more than) convenient system :)
You can notice on the forum who is heavily dependent of it.

While i understand NH is easy-peasy to gain massive money and fame at once.
Its a bit sad to see all missions and "quests" throw into void because of a transport system that give too much.
Tho we agree, most missions are boring by nature and need a total rework.

(The good one i really liked was all Sage missions, teaching you the Lore and stuff, even if we had to back'n'forth)

I'm irritated at the change because it removed my free transit between the capital and the outlying areas.

My alts/new mains will be irritated due to the loss of easy fame, especially since other ways to gain same are effectively nerfed.

Dappers? There are LOTS of ways to get dappers.

For what I understood, it's not only about money and fame but sap crystals too.

I'm one of the poeple who mostly cared about the nation points. I'm a hunter. I can easily burn through 250+ crystals every day, and that's if I don't play much. If I want to hunt a named like Dolak solo, that's about 50 crystals used just for one kill. Add to it enchant healing each other with a friend when trekking through a KP or heavy aggro and you can see how important crystals are for me. Due to university and life in general, I often only have 1 or 2 hours to play in the evenings and I'm not exactly excited to see I now have to spend 1 of those 2 hours on a delively run so I can buy more crystals.

I used to scout as lot, but now that the NH monetary rewards have been nerfed so massively, I can't be doing that anymore until I grind a ton of crafting levels. Low level overseer missions suck and I foolishly focused on light armor, not knowing that the most lucrative missions need weapons. This essentially means I can't do the thing I most enjoyed in the entire game. That's why the changes annoy me so much.

All in all, as I already said, I really would have preferred if they had waited with the NH nerf until after they reworked quests. Oh well.

As you said, the issue is half-made patch. Removing things without change what is directly impacted.

It can be that I'm wrong but i think NH were introduced at a time when the cheap tools post merge were removed and when no-one on the server had dappers, as a means to provide some dappers to the economy and get the world going again. Now everyone has them = dappers are completely worthless. I think the community got used to being spoiled with a system that was there to mitigate and not replace the 100's of other missions and things Atys has to offer.

It is sad to read people made 36 alts to prepare for a patch, or that they won't be able to do the things they did before... Crystals are meant to be boost to your skill, not your skill, the fact that you think you can't play without them is really, so sad.

I voted no,

In my opinion it does not make sense to be rewarded with civilisation fame and civilisation points, for using a transport system that doesn't benefit the civilisation at all.

My suggestion is to increase/adjust the amount of fame and civilisation points that people can gain doing package runs, which are, after all, a task from and for civilisations, it makes sense they are profitable in terms of fame and civ points.

Second suggestion is, remove negative points from PvP point calculation, so that Marauders can gain the most PvP points and get crystals with them, after all, it doesn't make sense that they do the most PvP and get the least rewards for it, also compensates the fact that they can't (and it makes perfect sense this way) do package runs.

Before it was really easy to get tons of dappers (resselling your crap xp craft item was enough ... no need to do missions or occupations at all).

When I think about that in relation to me, I must agree that there is a plenty. I used to load my weapons with spells, not wasting crystals. But the plenty made me lazy to plan and prepare. From one event some time ago I harvested about 10k of sap crystals. Even when I gave many to my guild, I still have that much I do not care. And when I will use them all, I still have about 200k faction points...

It was too easy to fall in this and I realize I do not care about if my amps are fully loaded with sap or not. If not, I just click few times...

I have stopped using NH to earn money and faction points about 6 mounths ago. When I need dappers, I like to do hunter missions for various tribes instead.

The thing I miss is my free traveling to minor cities with NH. Reward for my good fame to nations.
