Hallo homins

I have just released Bag App, and application that allows you to browse your personal and guild inventory items available via Ryzom API.

How it works

Application reads your inventory items using available modules in your character API key. The only required module is C04 (Inventory) but can also wotk with C05, C06 and A03. In case you are guilded and your guild has valid guild API key saved in RyGReg, you can also browse your guild hall inventory (using module G03).
System keeps items cache for each storage (bag, mount, apartment...) which expires after 10 minutes. Every time you use Bag App (or other tool or you use dynamic icons in App Zone) expiration is checked and in case the cache is outdated, system creates new.

Cache or not?

You can prevent any cache creating by omitting all or selected modules in your API key. In Customization settings you can lock updates to prevent changes until unlocked again. In your settings you can select to remove all Bag App cache data from database. You can force system to run update in Item storages overview.

Known issues

There are several minor issues you must mind using this tool:
  • API data are delayed against the server. To be sure you browse up to date inventory, wait up to 10 minutes since the last change.
  • Some API data will not update until you actually log into the game, for example removed re-sales will remain in the list before you get message from the merchant on next log in. No matter if those items are not on shelves anymore.
  • Item identification. I did research about items and materials but it is not possible to cover everything alone. There might exist items the system is not able to identify (will be displayed as "Unknown item [sitem_id]"), categrize correctly (item will have no categories) or re-count parameters correctly (pay attention to crafting parameters). Please report all troublesome items so I can fix it for next release.

Usage and installation

You can run the application IG using command /appzone 1977 from any chat window or install Bag App from App zone. All suggestions are welcome.

Hallo homins

Along with the last Ryzom patch is also coming release of new version. Several issues has been fixed and your IG usage experience should be now better.

Sharing the inventory

With new version of the Bag App you can now create shares based on your inventory. You can choose if selected storages are shown to specified homin or guild as well as to anyone anonymously.

Storages and item identification

Inventory items identification has been extended and improved and you can see more details about your storages. The application also tries to identify type of your animal, however not all variants are known. You can help by reporting unidentified animals along with its type.

Usage and installation

You can run the application IG using command /appzone 1977 from any chat window or install Bag App from App zone. All suggestions are welcome.

BagApp 0.5

Inventory storages

Bagapp Customization options allows you to set lifetime of each of your inventory storage. Item recognition has new database backend and along with other improvements brings better performance.

Alt guilds as virtual storage

With new version, bagapp implements access to inventories of your guild's alt guild halls as new virtual storage. You can browse all items in all guild halls in separate section or include in your universal inventory as it was mektoub or apparment.
This feature is based on RyGReg database of guilds therefore you have to first insert valid guild API key that includes G03 module. Then mark the guild hall as alt to your guild. It will automatically appear in your bagapp and will be updated as set in Customization.

Single item share

Univentory, inventory sharing system, newly allows users to share single item directly from item details. This feature is allowed for personal storages only. Find the item you want to present and click Show. Adjust name and description and set access permissions. Bagapp pre-creates some code you can use to publish your share and all viewers will see the item in Univentory. You can remove the share with Hide option in item details or by removing it from your Univentory shares.

Role-play options

One of important news is to allow users to enable more role-play options. With use of Blablatys database, users are allowed to select role-play language. This will create another translation layer and your application will be primarily localized into preferred atys language with fallback to your preferred language with fallback to default language (english).
Another option is live conversion of all dates into Atys timeline along with two new Date and time formates by Atys conventions. And when you feel far from Atys, enable use of your national font. There is one specific font for each Atys race. Unfortunately, in-game browser will ignore this setting.

User interface clean-up

Application UI has been cleaned up. Some additional changes were made for better use in UG browser and customization options were separated for each application. One of new key features is support for scaling. While regular browsers have this feature built-in, this option targets on use with in-game browser and allows you to scale application interface between 90% and 200%.

Color management was replaced with database backend as well as operations log has new database backend. Users can browse log history and let new messages to aggregate into one summary to save space on screen. Cache updates were moved into separate thread to improve performance. Changelog and version system has new database backend.

Usage and installation

You can run the application IG using command /appzone 1977 from any chat window or install Bag App from App zone. All suggestions are welcome.

Bag App 0.6

Personal item watchdog

Bag App allows you to define watchdog rules to track amount and quality of specific item sheet. This rule can apply to any single of your storage or to all together. It should help you keep eye on specific items you own.

Changes shared by all applications

The cache update mechanism, especially inventory cache in case of (multiple) guild halls, might take some serious time to complete. While you can still customize cache lifetime for each storage and affect the length between automatic updates, all general update locks are now also accessible from user settings. In case you lock any type of update, the system still checks for new changes and offers a way how to run the update manually. This allows you to have updates always locked and run it on your request.

There were also made some fixes and improvements on the update process itself and the system of localization is now using temporary translation cache to reduce number of database queries. The system tracks if your character has a profile on Ryzom Armory server and offers a link for such Homin. All applications except DeepList also contain basic user documentation.

The set of application icons was updated to better fit with the Ryzom client theme. This change is followed by update of license details in About section. System font database was reworked and the colour palette database now supports colour opacity.

Usage and installation

You can run the application IG using command /appzone 1977 from any chat window or install Bag App from App zone. All suggestions are welcome.
