I don't care about the past (beta or pre-merge)

But Fyros-land is different than the other nations.

Fyros:
Three cities 1 in a q50 zone and 2 in a q200 zone

Every other nation:
Four cities, all of which are of q50 zones

In my estimation, as I am a Fyros-guy, this is because the Fyros are the end-all, be-all, warrior a$$-kickingest race in all of Atys.

Opinions?????

Another thing.

In Fyros-land the non-Pyr cities are accessible without having to be aligned with the Kami, and the cost for the TP of the other cities are 1000 dappers, rather than the 2000 dappers for a q200 zone.

What's up with that?

IMO Pyr is the capital, everything else is suburb, with particularism increase when fare from Pyr.
When it all started, there was places with water and everything you need for a simple life, and many stayed there.
And someone found 2 Q200 spots in the middle of nower, with nothing, and its all end with Pyr de facto capital of Atys.
Mines, money protect by fortifications, traders meeting in safe fortified place, and so on.

I suspect Marauders may disagree. They are practically Desert-dwellers since their camp is in Hidden Source, a border region between Forest and Desert. However, their society is a bit more adversarial, hating civilized society as much as they like killing Kitins.

But yes, the Fyros homeland is unique in that aspect.

If you look at the distances in the Desert (or look at what the True Map of Atys looks like -- which is the same thing) you will see that it is by far the smallest of the mainland continents. (It's only a fraction larger than Liberty Lakes alone in Tryker territory.)  There is no reason to put towns so close to the capital as would be necessary if they were confined to the q50 area.
((This is a gameplay argument.)

The desert does not have abundant water.  The towns must be separated in order to keep them from drawing down the water table.  There is only enough room in the Desert for two more towns in addition to Pyr.

Dyron and Thesos have water. It's as simple as that. The real question is how the hell Pyr survives, when the closest source is the Oflovak Oasis.

Dark rumors say that the fyros people may know how to recycle body fluids...

((OOC: If you're asking for an actual gameplay answer.. ask a dev from the Nevrax era. Your guess is as good as ours. Most likely they couldn't fit several cities in the Imperial Dunes, so.. ))

Xyan: there is a huge water source under pyr (that's why it was built here), fyros are safe :-)

@Kovabon :
That's because fyros have only 1 city, Pyr. Dyron and Thesos are not cities but fyros outpost in the Desert (this can be seen in the almost complete absence of buildings in them compared to Pyr) - hence why they aren't next to Pyr :-)

Concerning the water thing.....

... Hmmm... I heard once that people, in real life, dig water from under the dirt/sand......

Why ya think NH guys give ya money to bring them barrels of water ?  They shipping it to Pyr ... we don't mind payiing for luxuries that other regions don't have have ... like walls and hot baths :)

In my experience, the Matis do not like to pay. Maybe it's because they think Trykers are stil their slaves and thus don't need to be paid :/
