Dear players,

As some of you have noticed, the server has been experiencing rubber banding for several days, which causes frequent lags (small rollbacks, especially noticeable when one travels at high speed).  The Atysian time has also been running slower, causing the season change time to continuously shift. The Dev team is currently working on a solution.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and ask you to please be patient.

After each season change, I post the new date / time of the next season change in the Guild MOTD . I edited it yesterday and it was 20:11 UTC ... checked @ noon my time and it was 20:42 ... sent a PM to Tixi and, at the time I sent, it was being reported at 20:44 ... after we exchanged a few comments, it was 20:45.

Also numerous reports of game weather logging few minutes behind weather graph on BM.

I have not been bothered much by the rubberbanding, but what I see when using speed ... if i look at compass and feet moving across the ground ... the pace of my feet over terrain remains constant and I am not being set back 50m or whatever as with what we typically call rubberbanding.  OTOH, the vier or camera appears to be what is rubberbanding.

I found myuself snapped back 2-3m at a time and occasionally with a short enough time between snaps that I was either effectively immobile or actually losing ground.

With server lag, season change is always shifting, so it's pretty impossible to have the hour of next change in advance.
Fortunately, the shift is relatively stable (around 8 minutes and 20 seconds per hour), so as long as the shift stays stable (but he's since the reboot), you can have a good approximation of the next change.

All of this to say : next season change won't be the 12 may at 6PM as ryzom tracker says, but rather the 13 may at 3 AM (that's Paris's hour, so CET time)

1. So if I am understanding you correctly ....

8:20 = 8.33 minutes per hour or 13,88%

So would it be safe to say that Zyroom or any of the other utilities we use could employ a fudge factor which is set by utility or input by user to better predict this ...

cc: Misugi :)

2. And was it always this amount or is this a new development ? i started w/ Atys Date Displayer beofre moving on the Zyroom and used to pay much more attention to season changes. From those recollections (read "pre-merge") .... I don't remeber ever being more than 20 minutes or so off over the course of the 4.5 days. Now we talking a 15 hour shift so a season lasts 5.125 days :(

3. OK, now I am PO'd... I been working at various occupations and missions ... somebody owes me overtime pay ... my 40 hours was really 45.5 hours ... where's my 5.5 hours at time and a half ?

@Fyrosfreddy: yes, that's about it, around 14% of the time is missed

And yes, it's new, usually it's between 10 - 20 seconds per hour

No time-and-a-half any more; you get vacation time instead :D

Just heard from HR, they said I spend too much time in chats and standing in dig gear doiing nothing .... when they deduct that, they say I owe them money.
