IDEAS FOR RYZOM

#1 [en]

It would be lovely if I could zoom in more, even at the cost of quality of graphics.

This is because I often drop multiple flags quite close. It allows me to target my dig better.

It is very hard to select flags that are close.

#2 [en]

yes! I hate that too, clicking on a flag and not getting the one you want, or, a person may be standing on the flag and you cannot click on the person to see who it is in your team. I agree, maybe some way to change from flag to flag(or person) when they are too close!

#3 [en]

I put a flag down in a general area of stuff and then memorize the landscape or put a note such as "5m se for oath".

That's a workaround, anyway.  I find if I pull edges to get the map bigger on my screen that I get a little more zoom.

Could this work for your zooming problems?

if it works, yes. Thank you very much. Let me try it out and see if fixes the problem.

It appears that the maps.xml solution no longer works, at least from the user folder. :/
or in folder (created) \Ryzom\data\...

I have mine in two places, dont know yet wich one is right (and not planning to try, I'm rarely in computer without Ryzom open =P)

/home/jahuu/.local/share/Ryzom/0/user/map.xml
/home/jahuu/.local/share/Ryzom/data/map.xml

I support the idea.

As Bitttymacod mentioned, i use notes like [D]C.Visc.C.Mitexi(5N).C.Koorin(12SW)

meaning

The spot is dangerous (enemies may come near), has Choice Visc on the spot, Choice Mitexi 5m north, Choice Koorin 12m southwest.

Would love to have a better zoom.

On MacOS, if I start with the „Ryzom Installer.app“ the profile in
/Users/yubina/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/0/ is used.

If I start /Users/yubina/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/ryzom_live/Ryzom.app directly, the profile in
/Users/yubina/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/ is used.

I usually start with the installer, I think thats how it’s supposed to be.

(/Users/yubina/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/0/user/map.xml with Ryzom Installer.app
OR
/Users/yubina/Library/Application Support/Ryzom/user/map.xml with Ryzom.app)

Edit: also works with a folder named data instead of user

Just for information, i thing too that it could be better to be able to zoom more but if not you can also name and use color categorie on your flag so it's easy to select them throug the radar menu as a do it often myself.

what problem does higher map zoom solve?

Hello!

Karu
what problem does higher map zoom solve?

It eases the problems of map flag spammers. At lower forage levels I had tons of flags side by side since I hadnt even heard about prospection for different mats nor would I have had skill points for those (now over 3000 and nothing to buy, foragers life isnt fair!). To be able to select the right flag, great zoom is needed =P
