IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Various items in game are obtained through guild efforts ... whether it be dropped items, event items, crafts, even items of sentimental value or whatever. Typically these are given to players within the guild based upon their contributions over time. When folks suffer sudden financial / health issues and even technical issues that keep them from returning to game, thes eitems are lost.

It would be nice if we could, much like "locking" an item, could designate items as guild property. That way leadership could keep track of who has what, or ... if possible .... have the items revert to GH if the player doesn't log in after a set period. These would show in GH inventory "special tab", w/ perhaps a timer that is set (or could be set) for a defined period and when it expires GL, could drag and drop back to GH.

Given that I have a complicated life that kept me off Atys for a few months, I agree. I'm sure I'm not the only one with NPC armor or boosted gear that would prefer to have their gear passed down than locked up should things happen.

A slightly trickier way that would be a bit more realistic is to have a designated "Executor of the will"; in case of extended/terminal absence, a trusted character of the player's choosing is authorized to access the apartment and packers of the incapacitated/deceased toon and distribute the items as they see fit (hopefully in accordance with the wishes of the person who designated them).

I like that too ... I dunno which one would be easier to implement. The idea of Guild property tho is it is "the guild" who earned it usually and it would allow those "waiting in the wings" so to speak for their turn a bit of a ray of hope that their efforts won't go to waste.

We keep a participation chart where each guildoid earns a point for each Boss kill. Anything returned would go to next peep on the list, and anyone coming back who gave one up, would go right to the top if they come back.

But yes... If for example you crafted me a 'present" and I fell off the track for a while, I'd want you to be able to pass that on to sum1 else.

For some guilds, "Guild property" is re-deposited in the GH once the OP battle/SN dig/boss battle is over while anything else is considered "Personal property". In other words, if it winds up in someone's apartment/mek then whatever homin stored it earned it.

As there is no way of accounting for all the ways guilds operate differently from each other or the nature of relations between a particular homin and their guild, I'm thinking that it may be better to let people designate their own trustees instead of automatically making the guild their owner.

Besides, there's nothing saying that you can't have your GL be the executor of your estate.

Well that's my point .... it is the guild "ONLY" when the giver themselves designates that's where it goes. Much like a crafter's message. "He who makie / givie decides"

If I give a NPC set to a HO and it reverts back to me ... then what happens if I'm in the middle of an 8 month hiatus. As i said, I like your idea too .... deoending on how hard it is to code... could even make it mutli-level

If not login w/i 90 days, revert to **Gidget**
..... or
If not login w/i 90 days, revert to **Guild**
..... or
If not login w/i 90 days, revert to **Gidget**
If not accepted w/i 30 more days, revert to Guild
