Has anyone ever figured out how to program a key or macro to make the stanza bars change?

With the new beta this is the only remaining issue I have with Ryzom.

press K and look for the "Select Shortcut Bar XX" under Action Keys

But that does not work... either with macros or key bindings on mac.

I have a Mac, and have no issues with the key bindings or macros.

To get the keybindings to work I had select the mapping for each key and re-map it to the same key.

Hope that makes sense.

Yes that makes sense... I use keys and macros... but nothing will work trying to change the stanza bars except clicking on the arrows... no keys or macros work when assigned to those.

Sorry this isn't working for you :(

Have you already tried assigning a few different keys to switch to the different stanza bars? I think on some operating systems, some key combinations can't be bound to in-game actions because the operating system already uses those key combinations (alt-tab to switch window, alt-f4, things like that. I think some operating systems don't allow applications to use alt-prefixed key combinations at all.)

If you haven't already, you could contact support directly at support@ryzom.com or through the in-game Help -> Support window. I've heard they can be of most help if you give them lots of detail about the problem, including information they might need about your setup like what Ryzom version you're using, what operating system version you're using, etc.

Yes, Karmy I have done this every way you can think. It has never worked for mac that I know of and I suspect it is the same for Linux users.

Seemed worth mentioning at least :) Hmmm. :/

I'm under the impression it works for at least some mac users (Fateciy) and some linux users, so maybe there's hope.

Hmmm. I know that in the macros there are commands for it, and that they work in Windows. I thought that the lack of working had gotten fixed. Definitely file a ticket to support.

What version of the client are you running?
I checked on a couple versions of the client starting with 2.1
I don't have a copy of the version that you get from the App store to check it.

The only other thing I can think of is check in the Keyboard Preferances, Under short cuts and check if any of them use the same keys as you want to use in Ryzom. System short cuts will over ride Ryzom's.

Drekai, just to add to Carmy's datapoint: I'm on Linux (various releases of Ubuntu) and occasionally on windows (7), I use the same keys_*.xml file on all my Ryzom installations (file copy), and all my keybindings work on all systems. For switching the action bar, I use CTRL-1 ... CTRL-0 without any problems ever (ever := for the past couple of years).

Maybe you could provide some more details about what you actually tried, what worked, and what worked not.

For example, did you open the macro definition window and then try to assign just e.g. the "h" key to a macro that switches to the third action bar? Does this work? If not, do any other keys work? Can you hit "K" to open up the "key settings" window?
If the new "h" assignment works, go from there and try e.g. "ctrl-h", then maybe the combination you'd like it to have.

Yes I have tried many different keys both in key bindings and in macros. Everything works fine for anything but switching the stanza action bar. I am using the latest beta from the ones that are available, but it has never worked on any of the versions I have been on. I have both imac and airbook running the latest OS. It works fine on Windows but not on Apple. I use the full Apple keyboard on both machines, with the numeric keypad. Again, all macros and key bindings work great on anything but the action bar.

Thanks for the idea... the ctrl key works for regular stuff... just not in Ryzom stanza bar. I will work for a macro or key function though.

Well, I guess I have finally solved my problem by making sure that on shortcut bar #2 the items I need to run are always showing... and I can program keys to use those actions. It's funny because I can use Control+C to run an action, but not to change the shortcut bar. Anyway, I guess I am all set being able to use the actions on shortcut bar #2.

Thanks for all the ideas, it is appreciated. If anyone ever figures out what is wrong with mac OS please post. By the way, I did go into my mac control panel for the keyboard and tell it to use the special keys as regular, and not mac funtion keys... this affects F1 etc. so that it uses those as regular instead of changing the volume etc.

Thanks again,

Drekai
