Hello fellow Mac users!

The most up-to-date client, which has been prepared for Steam, is available at http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/, this link is also on BM site homepage. I had some trouble getting it to work, which is why I decided to type something up to help the rest of you :)

The installer doesn't seem to work, but here is a way to give the new client the files it needs.

You need to have version 2.1 installed for this to work.

So download this 'ryzom_client_steam_osx_2.1.0.64xx.zip' and this data 'ryzom_data_2.1.0.64xx.zip.' Take these from your download folder and put them somewhere convenient (I used the desktop). Now show the contents of the new ryzom client, open contents, then resources. Put the ryzom_data_2 folder into the resource folder. Next go to your applications folder and show the contents of your current ryzom client, go to that resource folder and copy the data folder, paste this into the new client's resource folder. Rename your clients as necessary and move to your application folder. Now your Steam client should be ready to go!

I have noticed so far, much smoother rendering of homins, buildings, and landscapes. Also I am able to exit to the Character Selection screen without crashing!

Well good luck and I hope we find many more things will now work with our Macs :)

Of course you could also open the contents of your current client and replace all files except ryzom data and add the new data folder, that's what I did since I have 2 clients, but that would have taken longer for me to explain step by step :p

Thanks Naema, that is literally new since yesterday :) idk if they have a an update script now, or maybe this one ending in XXX45 has a working installer??????

Just checked, it looks like that is a newer upload, but still after downloading you must transfer ryzom data folders into it manually.

Thanks a lot for posting the link :)

I didn't know where to put the topic :p

The last revision (6445) temporarly disable the use of an optimization that created the crashes under OS X and Linux.

For changelog (unfortunately bitbucket doesn't display the numeric revision) :

Zam> C'est bizarre ton truc :( Tu as toutes les données du jeu aussi ? Je ne les ai pas mises sur la page de download :(

When moving camera with mouse it seems to be laggy and slow. I am back to my old client with fluent camera view until that gets fixed, :)

Yenno> please what version is your older client ?

Is it located in another folder with different client_default.cfg ?

Because I suspect that's because to new effects we enabled by default (FXAA).

Version of old client is: 2.0.0
And, exactly, when updating the client a new path with different client_default.cfg has been created.

Hum, that's really strange because previous behaviour (in client 2.0.0) was buggy and it has been fixed since :(

I'll check again :)

Thanks for report :)

Same problem with Yenno, I'm using 2.1.0 with El Capitan as OS

Did you know that with client 2.0.0 a lot of stuff was disabled ?

Such as micro-vegetation. If you want to disable them with new clients, you can.

Please what are you graphic cards ?
