IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Please can you find out the cause of the Please Waits and make it stop? Every day it happens around the same time for about an hour. 7:00 pm-8:00 pm for Pacific Daylight time.
Thanks~

I don't think it's server side issue. Have you checked if the network traffic is higher on your computer at that time? Or maybe another computer using the same connection? Could be some scheduled update/sync.

The daily PW hour is most definately a server-side issue. During that hour even mobs are frozen during PWs (I have successfully killed Dante during these PWs, if it was on player-end we would have been wiped as guards would still have been active during the PWs). Last I heard during that hour there is some sort of server process, file backup, etc. that causes the lag. I am used to it now and it is better than the top-of-the-hour PWs that have existed in the past, but for the sake of appearing to be a well run game it should be reduced further.

I have also experienced PW's every day, and I will concur that is not player-side, but rather server-side. In the past, I have logged out, done a DNS restart, and logged in again, to no effect.

So, I have accepted the PWs, but I still don't like them.

Grumble....

I am a Fyros. What more do I have to say other than that?

Can y'all do traceroutes during that hour, and again when it's stable? And post results here, there may be a hop between you and the server that's misbehaving.

#6 [en]

How do you do a Traceroute? And what is a HOP? All I can say is all players seem to have the same problem at the same time

#7 [en]

What is your operating system? Hop means the connection jumping/advancing from one network device to the next.

OS is 10.9.5

#9 [en]

https://www.siteground.com/kb/how_to_perform_traceroute_checks_in _windows_linux_and_macos/

This should cover how to run traceroute from any os option. Note that traceroute isn't installed by default on some linux distrobutions, so you may have to install it. (As you would install anything else on your distribution.)

post a your results here, hopefully that'll help find the trouble.

#10 [en]

The problem isn't a hop on the way to the server. The server wide experience of the please waits is caused by the server itself. No one online at that time is free from them, so traceroutes wouldn't help.

It's a global issue, the server is doing something during that time that makes it unresponsive to all players.
