I'm tired of it. My mother is not playing this game so french come up with a better insult pls of you want to insult me (while I'm not insulting you). It's sad really just told somebody again today pls don't kill 'x'-es fire and I got 10 lines of 'ta ****' trown at my head. (and yes used 'PLS')

Ryzom for what I know is a fun and friendly game but asking sombody with pls don't kill X her fire and all i see for next 5min being ta m*re non stop just kills it for me.

AND don't pull rp card since nobody has a mother in this game.

I had to go to a good online traduction source to find out what it meant, but not only is that uncalled for, it is a violation of the CoC and should get the person banned.

It is one thing to say, "I'll kill whatever I bloody well please," and another to use foul language.

actually translated some lines a csr was trown at her head last week she was shocked what it meant but way to nice to do something about it.

Who knows it might be a normal way of communicating in french but think  we should as a community try and make this game back a family friendly community.
I got no ideas myself so hope others can think about something.

From what I've seen, certain parts or Europe do have some rather interesting insults involving mothers, some foul enough to make even me wince.

But as post-Merge Ryzom is world-wide with Americans, Germans, French, Filipinos, and others all playing on the same server, even cultural differences is no excuse for that sort of behavior. The CoC applies to all of us equally.

anyway now that i've insulted MYSELF for a good laugh and to lighten the mood a little: i agree that we're a global game, and that should be accounted for by those with the power to properly police these issues. that being said, keep in mind how few we have in power that can deal with it, and that it might take a little time, and if we don't report the issue they never know there is one.

In order to help the understanding of this thread, let me explain a bit the meaning of "ta ****" in french : this is clearly an insult. Kind of 'don't give me ****' or '*******' or '************' depending on the context.

But usually, this is not in the expected langage registry of someone playing Ryzom, so it's quite strange you were told this. Maybe a young kid ?

Anyhow, CSRs should definitely act in this case


my 2 cents.

personally i don't intend to single out any one group, i've seen english speaking players act like a******* too, as well as german, and other language speaking players. i'm saying that the issue it's self must be addressed on a per offender basis.

if i gave the impression that i was just picking one language group i'm sorry about that, but, more often then not it does seam to come from that group of players more often, and as a result that's the direction that post's like these take.

to use an old phrase: when the shoe fits, ware it. but that statement is true of any group, english, german, spanish, italian, russian, french, swahillie, and the list goes on. bottom line, while post's like this do put it out there for everyone to see and talk about, the best way to attempt to fix the issue is to file a ticket and let the CSR's handle it, but along with that, there's always the "burden of proof", since not everyone thinks to take a screen shot when insulted, and the CSR's don't want to have to go back and read the server chat log (megacorp proves there is one).

let's also look at the fact that most every player i encounter is well over age 20, and very few are younger, while the rating on the game might be T for teen or E for everyone, most of us are adults, most of the world has been exposed to the words everyone is making a big deal of, the bottom line is that they are words, someone somewhere had to deem them "bad" before they were anything but words. if the whole damn world would stop the pretense that they're bad, they'd just be words again and it matter two ***** if they were used at all. yes i used it, the "big one". honestly i don't care anymore, i'm tired of playing carebare all the damn time. words are only as powerful as you let them be, so if you don't give a **** about the word ****, then it become empty and meaningless.

Harrasment is against the CoC, and any incident should be brought to the attention of a CSR and not posted on the forum.
