nimetu removed all the libwww code in RC, meaning we no longer need it (which is a really nice improvement - in a none sluring way).
So far it's working really great, but more feedback would be appreciated (whether it works or not).
Here is a static 64 bits version

Thanks !

What parts of the client did libwww affect, anything in particular we should look out for?

My installs are generic (rsynced from ryzom.com) - I replaced one of them with your executable. The few actions I tried doing all worked: practicing an occupation, getting transported with New Horizons, teleporting, walking around, etc.

edit:

Browsing forums also works. Slight visual diffence.

talking to web server (downloading html, uploading form submit) and parsing html which was then passed along to renderer.

if browsing works, posting works, NH works, and other web apps work, and there is no weird timeout errors, then it's all good.

visual changes are relatively old in ryzom core version and not from libwww.

Hello!

#4 [en]

I have been using this version and 2 others I compiled based on the same changes. There seems to be a constant problem with these clients in that the network connection fails every 2 minutes. This sometimes leads to a long 'please wait'. Has anyone else noticed this?

Merci beaucoup :)

I compiled them on Debian Squeeze with maximum static dependencies, to be sure it will be compatible with most of GNU/Linux distributions.

Both seem to work on ubuntu trusty/64bit, but they have errors trying to open https from ingame browser.
i386 gives 'Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates' and
amd64 gives 'unsupported protocol'.

'Create Account' on login screen works* on i386, but amd64 gives standard error 60 (Protocol "https" not supported or disabled in libcurl)

* cat /etc/ssl/certs/thawte_Primary_Root_{CA,CA_-_G2}.pem > data/ssl_ca_cert.pem

Hello!

Thanks a lot for your feedback :)

I'll check what is missing in 64 bits build for libcurl :)

And yes, we need to update the PEM file that expired :(

I just updated the ZIP file with libcurl https support :)

'Create Account' on login screen works for both i386 and amd64.

Ingame browser support for https still gives certificate verify error. Probably because curl does not find correct trusted ca file.

One link I found about the subject.

Not sure how that should be handled for static client.

Hello!

Thanks again :)

Certificate has to be updated in data. I'll check and ask Ulukyn to update it :)

Hum please how can I check HTTPS support in ingame browser ?

I thought web apps were only using HTTP :(

I use ballistic mystix ingame app which has 'ryzom-isv' link pointing to https://launchpad.net or 'develop branch' link pointing to https://bitbucket.org/ on first text block.
