Dear players,

We have been able to improve the targetting system of the mobs sooner than we expected, so that Tuesday's patch also includes all the changes that we had planned for a bit later. The announcement has been changed to reflect this.
The behaviour of mobs in combat with players has been modified. From now on they will retaliate to all the attacks from players. The healers will also be attacked. However, characters that don't belong to the team of the targetted characted by the mob and that don't take part in the fight won''t be attacked. So it won't be possible anymore to drag, either deliberately or not, mobs on characters out of your team.
If however the character attacked by a mob dies, it can then attack a nearby character that wasn't taking part in the fight. Dying close to another character to drag mobs on them won't be punished unless it's possible to prove that the action was deliberate.

Hm, aggressive mobs can still be dragged on peaceful bystanders not belonging to the same team. I tried that a few times yesterday, and it definitely does work. You don't have to attack such mobs to make them follow you though...

So the changes only affect mobs that you have attacked at least once? The "new" mob-behaviour will not protect diggers against being killed by mobs who follow other player-characters running past, nor will it help anyone against "indirect PvP"?

This is really disappointing. I had such high hopes after reading the first version of the announcement a few days ago that said:
Die Verhaltensweisen von feindlichen Kreaturen, die Spielercharaktere attackieren, wurden modifiziert. Von nun an werden sie ihr Ziel nur noch ändern, wenn das neue Ziel dem selben Team angehört wie ihr derzeitiges Ziel.

Or is the "real" patch still to come perhaps? I did not experience any patch-process, neither did my boyfriend, though the character-selection-screens tells both of us when logging in "Atys: all files are up to date!". I so wish that dragging aggro onto harvesters and non-PvP-tagged characters would stop.

I just checked, the password are still limited to 8 alphanumeric character. This post made me think that it was a part of the "Ryzom Core numerous fixes" of the patch. Since it obviously isn't, can we get a list of the fixes who has been done ? Or at least what commit number you used for the merge
