Well, the Kitin patrols have been added back after the merge. At first I thought I wouldn't mind an additional challenge in PR. I do find however, the number of patrols in one region that overlap mean every trek is constantly threatened, and solo digging down there is just to some players - not worth the hassle anymore.

The server has low numbers of players, and perhaps at that time after launch when they were part of the game, and there were enough spare players to bring a guard of 6+ to guard one digger, they were a challenge, but is it the case that time has passed?

I'm not so sure that the patrols are more than just an annoyance now, rather than the challenge they could be if they were perhaps fewer in frequency, or perhaps people feel the need to remove them again. I don't know how neutral players feel about PR (The reason they were removed when the factions were implemented in 2005).

Worst idea ever. Sorry for the hyperbole but I love KP.  I have spent most of my game life in PR and I can honestly say that KP are the best thing about this game. They make treks, digging, bosses fun. I am a solo digger and I really do not understand why people say that KP make PR too hard.  I would also argue going in a team does give you protection BUT its also makes you such a large tasty target.  I would argue for more effective KP, not less. I would like to see their range and paths tweaked so that there are no safe spots.  PR is meant to be hard and even with KP it is not that bad.   And please, please, please bring KP back to KL, as is stands KL will always lose to watching paint dry.

Last time when I dared mention kps suck, all sorts of nice folks rushed to tell me it's just an impression and PR is damn easy.

So, you know, it's settled. We're just noobs.

I will not say PR is easy or hard with KP. I think it does add the element of surprise to the game that keeps me on my toes and can even make things more interesting. I admit that I will get frustrated if I am in a group that doesn't have a clue how to handle them but at the same time I think that after they figure it out KP actually makes for better players and more fun. Between them and weather it actually allows for more people to have a chance at getting sup mats anyways. I think it would be better if they would change them a little bit more so that certain spots are covered better while others are not overlapped as much by three at a time. Maybe they are a little too close together, I don't know. I just voted to keep samw because I'm lazy and can't think of better idea atm LOL.

I know you are talking about me and Marichia, you swine! And it is not our fault, kipekoo was being male and we were distracted by important Nutella issues :P

To implement, it might be easier to make their range increase at these times and then gradually decrease.

"Kept" (because I suppose they have to be a threat in PR - being as kitin are a threat to all homins and are part of our pve)

"Reduced" because many homins are casual players and have not got the time to go digging in PR and learn how to avoid KP and KP just put them off altogether, so keeping KP high - or making them ever higher, is just keeping PR for the Atyss Elite

Lacuna gave great advice on weather and PR dig - but most recent refugees are not going to meander through forums to find this

I think Mj asked for them to be introduced back into the Kitin Lair - though this would be a shame for recent refugees who are taking up an OCC to make a living

This idea of "I'm offended". Well I've got news for you. I'm offended by a lot of things too. Where do I send my list? Life is offensive. You know what I mean? Just get in touch with your outer adult. (Bill Hicks)

so keeping KP high - or making them ever higher, is just keeping PR for the Atyss Elite

but we are talking about 250 PR, so yes it's for "Elite". What a recent refugee would do there ?

what I like in the idea of Djaimse is that it would be more difficult when "Elite" players are digging to empty suprem spots, but easier if you go a long time after season change (2 last days IRL). So everybody wins.

I agree. 250 PR zones having KP do not keep casual players from digging sups. There is nothing elite about learning and if this is a "sandbox", then even a casual would have time to learn about aggro in 250 PR zones and "pay their dues" to kirosta while learning. I don't claim to be overly awesome but even experienced diggers still lose mats if they don't pay attention. This keeps things intersting for me instead of just yay sups! I don't want to push anyone away but taking out things is going backwards from what needs to be happening here anyways. Feel free to flame/shame these are my views and I'm happy to share :)

I completely agree with Lacuna, Bones and Zendae on this one. I say keep KP, they're one of the most exciting and challenging elements of PvE in this game. And bring KP back to KL as well, it's very boring down there right now! ^^

Voted other:

Would like to see more KPs but with a bit of a longer respawn time. Their current respawn time is too short. Please don't remove KPs from the game- PR should be fun and imo harder than it currently is.

(Roleplay reason: With the nasty rangers blocking up all the tunnels in the 4 civ lands it only makes sense the kitins would go through PR more.)
