- "60 kinchers", said the hamazan for herself, after counting insects that walked one over another on the roof of tunnel of woe. She infiltrated on a outcrop from where she could observe goings-comings of kitins without being to much disturbed.
- "60 kirostas evenly", that's what she counted from the group of teeming lacerating kirostas below in the south, close to research center ruins.

She was pleased about her method : counting them while moving was to hard, so she did first a lucio, then marked each kitin on the lucio with a tiny stick dipped in excellent Dante sap, of a blue color, well distinctive. Every 5 kitins marked, she did another mark at the border of lucio. It was only to add the whole at the end of the process.

Between the lair and the ramp toward hidden source, bark was lined with kirostas. Going toward karavan altar, that was kinchers, and other kirostas more in the south. About the lair of woe itself, the entrance and West side were defended by more kirostas as usual. And at the north, the blind tunnel -which entry was hidden by a big tree- was also throwing up kirostas by bunches.

While watching the kizarak doing it's daily walking, Zendae meditate on the succession of events that preceded this situation. The capture of a kitin and the studding group driven by Erminantius ; Ozwomen that insisted to explore the tunnel of woe ; training against kitin in the goal of setting up a specialised battalion ; the royal botanist that wished to resurrect the project of green fence from Bravachi ; the strange growth of a rotoa inside kitin lair's eggs room...

Did the kitins felt someting ? or was the Goddess testing the matis ?

- "By Vae, the battle's only starting. Ser Kitins, you'll experience the cold will of the matis", she said while fondling the shell of a kipee that came close by curiosity.
