IDEAS FOR RYZOM

I know there are many exciting plans coming from the Ryzom Forge with the new equipable items and the possibility of new playable zone(s). However I definitely think the Kitin Lair is one of the most interesting and rich places on Atys and could certainly benefit from being finally finished. At the moment it seems like even things from before the merge were not fixed yet (kipuckas are missing from the Egg Room which makes the Larvest occupation way too easy, kipesta patrols are gone, etc). I would love to see the Kitin Lair get some love in the future. Places like the "Queen's Room" and the "Prince's Room" have the potential to be truly epic.

speak for yourself. the larvester mission isnt easy. I die everytime I attempt it. lol So why make it harder. yes I would like to see it finished....but i cant do the mission now without help. it would be a nightmare with all that......but then I die a lot anyway. lol

This idea of "I'm offended". Well I've got news for you. I'm offended by a lot of things too. Where do I send my list? Life is offensive. You know what I mean? Just get in touch with your outer adult. (Bill Hicks)

Though I understand people deeming KL and KL based occupations hard, I tend to disagree under respect of the KL as it was before the merge.

My first experience of KL was passing the guard room, going down, seeing a few kipestas .. and that was it. It took some time until I learnt to drag the kipesta patrol and the kipucka terminator to the rangers, understood the respawn times, learnt to evade the sheperd kincher, understood that kizoar patrol behind cattle room is agro (and kibans sometimes for unknown reasons), that kipees dislike herbies and eggs to be killed by homins and so on.

The patrols in prime egg chamber were the hardest to learn, not only several kipucka patrols, but also a kipesta patrol flying down to the southern end of egg chamber. Understanding that there were a few safe spots, and more only partially safe ones was crucial.

Now most of that complex system is gone, risks in KL are lamentably low. Sure it is ways easier to do KL occupations like larvester, scrollmaker, and medic (butcher is not much affected whatsoever). But much of the thrill and atmosphere of KL is gone, too.

It all comes down to whether you're catering to the casual gamer or to the hardcore. Sadly, sometimes it's hard to strike a balance.

I've already had several guild members who were afraid of PR, simply because of the rumors surrounding those regions. If you have just one hour (or three) to play in a given day, totaling 10 hours per week ... yeah, exploring an incredibly difficult region isn't going to happen.

I won't disagree that right now KL occupations are extremely easy, due to the lack of dangers (if you stick to the middle of cattle room, you almost don't have to fear aggro). Nevertheless, the scenario Daomei describes is the stuff of nightmares IMO.

What Daomei describes is the stuff we had before merging of servers. I still don't understand why patrols in KL had been removed. The lair looked more credible with them. The guards from the ranger camp was there to get rid of kipesta patrols.

For the rest of the nest, well it was a time that another part after the chamber of eggs was accessible with a ranger seal. No occupations there, but some strange things to explore.

Regarding the chamber of the queen and other parts, it's often said that they should be so much kitins there that it would overwhelm server's limits. I think it's a a bit ridiculous excuse to have no mobs at all.

And since the spoil of the 10 years we know that the queen does exist !

I agree with Zendae!

I mean, I understand casual gamers might not want to spend what little time they have on an extremely difficult region. But guys, we're talking about the Kitin Lair here. This is supposed to be the homebase of the Kitins, almost like Atys's "ultimate dungeon". It should be hard. As it is, we can just go steal their larvae right under their nose in the egg room and there's practically no aggro there to be afraid of.

Maybe strike a balance somewhere. Once again, I love the complexity of the ecosystem in the Lair and would love to see more of it.

same is about the occupation tier2! alchemy and co where are they!?

please, if there is a reason that something going wrong, just tell us!!
why are occupation tier2 gone after merge? technical reason ? were they to "powerfull"? or you want to re-create them?

Purg, from what little I know:

The merge broke the Ryzom Dev Software. Ulukyn and Goki I think had to rebuild it from scratch and many tools are still being implemented. This is why many things were lost and are currently being put back into the game and because of this, a backlog has started to build up. There are more than 2 working on making stuff for ryzom but believe me it isn't an easy process and everyone is currently working flat out.
